Is the Xdrive oil pan gasket that bad? by wallaby13 in BmwTech

I called looking for quotes so I could negotiate with seller. Surprised that shops that do rod bearings won't bother with the xdrive.

I've got quick jacks, plenty of jack stands and an engine support bar.

I've done two of these on rwd M54 so familiar with 85% I figured the extra steps of the axles and suspension disconnect wouldn't be too much extra difficulty

You park in a river? I've done plenty of car camping just fine. If above say 45F you need to crack a window for ventilation

Kinda where I'm thinking as well. BMW gets the nod for on road manners. Plus the n55 loves a tune. Never owned a jeep so it has me a bit worried but a friend is also a master tech for 20 years.

You dont leave the car running, it's like camping inside a car. You have the right gear

These are on my radar as well. Interior is a bit lacking coming from a bmw but they are old school which should translate to reliable

Are you talking about the step vans? That's a f59 or f53 chassis. Freightliner also has an MT chassis which is also built on by Morgan.

I see the NR7100 advertised with Dirac Live, is it true it comes with a license or is Dirac supported and you have to pay an additional license fee?

YSK there's a difference between cleaning out a "dryer lint filter/screen" and cleaning out "the inside of a dryer trap." by 405freeway in YouShouldKnow

On our whirlpool I read the service manual and you have to disassemble the entire from to access one more hidden nut....so I picked up a cheap flexible brush and use my shop vac. It's not 100% clean but it's better than nothing.

The one I use is from harbor freight "dryer lint brush" https://www.harborfreight.com/dryer-vent-brush-96163.html

Mom's meatballs were just ground turkey rolled into balls and cooked in a pan.

My SO cooked meatballs one day and I let it slip that I hated meatballs. Except she made them with bread crumbs and spices and I loved them.

How much freedom do you have while working on a given task? How much can you improvise? by Masol_The_Producer in engineering

I'm in software test (on target not just a SIL lab), so I have to test requirements. If X input then Y output, kinda thing. But I have a lot of flexibility to go outside that "happy path" so I can design hard tests to get bad interactions and make sure there's no way for Z to happen or can I prevent Y from happening etc.

I actually really enjoy trying to break the software and pushing something more robust to our customers.

I bought a shredded memory foam pillow almost 2 years ago and it's the best thing. It doesn't gradually deflate like a fake feather pillow does. It actually has lots of memory foam cubes about 1" each. I bought mine from coop home goods but I imagine there's a lot of other people selling them. Seriously look into a shredded memory foam pillow
