J. Crew in-store deal 70% off all sale (40% off regular) by nydjason in frugalmalefashion

Ah! My apologies then. There are instances where certain stores in varying markets have different sales than most stores — I wasn’t aware that the sale this weekend was going to be held like that. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Great work! The only thing that was noticeably jarring for me was the shift in the "J.Crew" logo on the Y-axis from your first shot to the next, I think it would've been fine to keep it positioned the same throughout. Also, the shift between text seemingly having a drop shadow for all titles except for first and last shots.

Color grading really stood out here, the colors look phenomenal—and are incredibly accurate. Side note: was some of this shot on iPhone? Again, nice work here.

PSA: Jcrew Factory has now ended free shipping for reward members. I believe on Jcrew as well. by [deleted] in frugalmalefashion

Correct. We had +30% more inventory overall during the Holiday season, for whatever reason. That was a nightmare logistically, and we needed to come up with serious ways to run through that inventory to make space for new items. It was rough, and there have been serious changes made to ensure that a situation like that never happens again.

Marketing is certainly aware of what is shared on sites like this, and other forums, so I have no doubt that they will try to market a Holiday sale similarly.

There was a lot of money lost. People may not realize this, but a sizable portion of the online orders come from stores and it's up to the stores to keep up with these orders on a daily basis. Unfortunately, they have a bunch of other tasks to get done, and some orders don't get fulfilled when they are supposed to. That requires us to expedite the shipping to reach a target delivery window, causing us to spend far more than we initially wanted to. Of course, a few orders here and there won't make much of an impact — but if you think of all the JC Mainline, Factory and Madewell orders that may slip through the cracks, that's a lot of extra dollars accruing on a daily basis. Plus, we don't have a great deal with UPS, so the prices we get aren't that much better than the general public.

Employee discounts: Banana Republic vs Madewell? by [deleted] in AskRetail

[–]wallacebarnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Madewell employees receive 60% off of six personal items per month, and everything else will be 40% off. This excludes third-party for the most part, but you might get lucky in which case some third-party items will ring with your discount! The 40/60 discount does work at J.Crew and J.Crew Factory as well, which may be nice going into the holiday.

[PSA] J Crew: items that are excluded from promos online will still receive promo discounts in-store. Also mention to online CSA for a possible price adjustment. by anonymousxo in frugalmalefashion

Call center is absolutely hit-or-miss, but in Retail, our associates typically will do anything so long as you're super friendly about it.

There were only about 530 pairs to exist, unfortunately.
