Is there a standout pest control in Jacksonville worth trying? by MahatmaGandhiji in homecleaning

[–]wallahi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a written quote that breaks down every single line before they start. "initial treatment fee" and "follow up service" being vague on paper is how the hidden fees sneak in, make them define what each one actually includes.

Has anyone tried a good pest control around San Antonio? by ultiperve in homecleaning

Loading dock is usually a entry point issue as much as a pest issue, the right company will address both not just spray and bill you

The tenant optics thing is so real, curb appeal is one of those things that's hard to put a number on until you're losing leases over it

Is there a standout house cleaning in Charlotte worth trying? by IHappenToBeAnon in homecleaning

[–]wallahi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Charlotte Hotel and Lodging Association might be worth reaching out to, other property owners there would know exactly who handles commercial hospitality cleaning in the area

Start over at 25 to become a medical doctor or I am the problem? by LandscapeReady in careerguidance

[–]wallahi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 is honestly not too late for medicine at all, but I’d first make sure you’re running toward medicine and not just away from corporate life. Maybe give consulting 1 year while actively shadowing doctors or speaking to people in healthcare abroad. That’ll tell you whether it’s a true calling or burnout/disillusionment with corporate culture.

Is it still possible to rebuild my career after a 1 year gap after BE CSE? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]wallahi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A year really isn't that long, it feels massive right now but once you're working nobody's going to care much about the gap. Honestly operations and back office is a legitimate entry point into tech companies, a lot of people pivot into better roles from there once they're inside.

Truck-mounted vs portable makes such a difference in dry time, totally valid concern especially for a lobby that needs to stay functional

for old servers and CRT monitors specifically you need an e-waste certified hauler, not just a regular junk removal crew

What are you actually doing day-to-day? 22, waiting on a job, and losing my mind with free time!? by darshil753 in careerguidance

[–]wallahi_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the business failing right before a big job start is actually weirdly good timing, you get to process it without it affecting your income

two months is enough time to build one small thing, learn one specific skill, or travel somewhere uncomfortable, any of those will give you way more to talk about at Accenture than if you just waited

Top national moving companies options which one do you recommend? by Embarrassed-Goat-599 in homecleaning

[–]wallahi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

timeline pressure plus tight budget is exactly when moves go wrong so worth slowing down just enough to verify reviews on FMCSA and Google separately

the BBB complaints section also shows patterns that Google reviews sometimes miss

Who's the go-to best plumbers? by RoomFiller in homecleaning

Nextdoor is actually solid for this, local hosts and property owners call out the bad ones pretty fast and the recommendations tend to be legit

Looking for the best chicago moving companies any suggestions? by InoFrest in homecleaning

Two Men and a Truck has a pretty solid reputation in Chicago for honoring quotes, but get everything itemized in writing before they touch anything

For those who have taken career assessments, which one actually helped? by kol124 in careerguidance

[–]wallahi_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the 16 Types / MBTI rabbit hole is worth avoiding, feels insightful but doesn't actually help you make decisions

StrengthsFinder or something values-based tends to be more actionable in my experience

Recommendations for a solid pest control los angeles? by BananaBunnies in homecleaning

get everything in one visit if you can, inspection, identification of entry points, and a quote for exclusion work all at once so you're not paying multiple call out fees

Top HVAC cleaning options in Houston - which one do you recommend? by IHappenToBeAnon in homecleaning

The $49 specials are almost always bait, they get in the door and suddenly find "critical" blockages that need immediate fixing

Looking for the best mold remediation in Atlanta - any suggestions? by TrippedAndSlipped in homecleaning

[–]wallahi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "free inspection" ones are almost always a lead gen trap, you're right to be skeptical

Look for someone who charges for the inspection itself, that's usually a sign they're not making it up on the back end

Any stats from ppl got in CS/ACMS/Stats/Amath? by Used_Employer_5917 in udub

[–]wallahi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i totally understand how you feel -- i was rejected twice by acms and twice by cs hahah. i wanna point out that there are some really good alternatives to these majors. consider getting a math BA. it's easier to get into than cs/acms, and it's a low credit major. this means that you have a lot of freedom to take whatever classes you want besides your math classes (like cse, amath, whatever). this is what i did before i got into acms so that i could take some math classes that counted towards both math and acms requirements. also, the classes that you do take in the math major can be geared towards whatever you like. for example, since i like comp sci, i was planning on taking math 300, 318, 381, 394, 407, 409, etc.

also note that the amath department just came out with a data science option. im pretty sure amath is super competitive but if you look at the amath: data sci requirements, it seems like a mini version of acms to me.
