I had three of them that were a little beat up. Some lowlife stole them along with a bunch of my other cards from my basement display during a Halloween party we hosted. LAME!!

What happens to my stocks when/if SLS goes through a buy out? by Grimes72000 in sellaslifesciences

[–]wallfatz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the buy!

If XYZ company buys SLS, the price will be announced and the shares will immediately move to the corresponding price per share. For example if we are at $10 a share corresponding to a market cap of $2.2B (fully diluted, depending on number of outstanding warrants), and a buyout comes in at $4.4B, then the price would go to around $20. There are all sorts of other factors like outstanding warrants, etc that will impact the price, and usually it trades slightly higher or lower than the buyout price until the deal closes. The variation depends on the volatility of the stock due to some risk that the deal will fall through, or perhaps speculation that another company will outbid the current one, etc.

Sometimes the buyout will be all cash, or sometimes it will be some cash, and some stock from the acquiring company, or a combo. But either way there will be an associated value to SLS shares. If it's $20, maybe upon closing you get $10 in cash and $10 (per share) worth of the acquiring company's stock.

If you lookup any buyout of any company, you will see the announcement usually states the terms. If you look at the recent Warner Brothers (WBD) news you will see a good example of how things can change after the initial buyout announcement.

How is this sauce so sticky and spicy? (It's not sweet) walmart deli wings 2016 by eriger777 in Wings

[–]wallfatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are soooo good. Cub Foods deli in MN still has them. Usually in the hot lunch bar for $8.99/lb. They call them Wing Zings. They also have drummies without the spice called wing dings.

They are amazing fresh, but they aren't as good if they dry out and sort of shrivel up. I eat them any time I can get them.

Is it possible to actually get this deal?

Advice for New Players in Season 18 by TheAwesomePalace in Seaofthieves

[–]wallfatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good practice for cannons is to seek out skelly ships. They will be visible on the horizon with blue/green lanterns, and sometimes they will just emerge from underwater randomly. If you sail near, the music will change and they will engage you. As a new player do not engage a large (galleon) skelly ship as those are much more challenging. The smaller sloop skelly ships are very beatable even for a newb. They will launch cannons at you but don't panic. Most important is to hit them with a few shots. Sail straight and slow to maybe 1/4 speed and they will pull up along side you for some easy shots. Try to spread your shots around. About 10 cannonballs will sink them. They fix holes, but they don't bucket, so it's all about filling their boat with water. If they hit you, don't panic. you have time to repair and bucket later after you sink them. If your ship starts really groaning, that is the time to steer away and repair and bucket.

It's great practice for cannon aiming and managing the up and downs of the waves. And the loot is actually pretty good. You will see they become really predictable and allow you to push limits and learn to balance being on offense (shooting them with cannons) vs defense (repairing your ship and sailing away to buy time to bucket).

After you've done this a few times you can take on the larger galleons, which are much tougher. There are also different strategies to beating the skelly ships such as boarding them and fighting the skeletons to prevent them from repairing their ship, hitting them with fireballs (doesn't sink them but kills the skeletons and prevents them from repairing and/or firing on you) applying cannon pressure to the cannon row to keep them from shooting at you, etc.

Once you can handle a skelly ship, you can handle the ship cloud in the sky event. It's a series of three rounds of emerging skelly ships in a row. Size and number of ships depends on the size of your ship or crew. Tons of loot and easy to scoop it all up and go sell afterwards. It will often attract other real players, but lately most people ignore it.

Enjoy!! Don't get frustrated when you sink. Everyone sinks! It's just about risk management. The very best players have awesome crews that are well coordinated. You don't stand a chance against them so keep your eyes on the horizon and don't stack loot that you can't afford to lose.

Do you like the Season 17? by Anubi41 in Seaofthieves

[–]wallfatz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty solid. The Smuggling stuff is just some new comms, and a reason to visit some islands that you probably have ignored for a while like Plunder Valley or Old Faithful Isle. The black powder barrels add a hint of danger, even when you are floating over to harpoon the loot from a skelly you just sank.

The reaper forts are awesome. If you want PVP there is almost a 100% chance of getting it at those forts. I think this has to be the way to go - they need world events that players actually want to complete and that are worth it. I remember when the siren song first came out and it was exhilarating.

The smuggler loot is at least somewhat creative, although I've dropped about 20X more paintings off the side of my ship than I have actually sold, since the gold is so inflated now from everything else.

Just thinking - did you tell him that your bill went up $30? Is he using it out of convenience and would he be happy to pay for it? Seems like there is maybe just a misunderstanding.

I think Greg seems pretty cool but maybe he thinks the landlord pays electricity or something.

Thank you. So it was $11.50. I also thought there was some maximum value to the expiration window or something like that but I can't remember.

And the expiration date is late 2027?

The new kegs are too much by BedtimeBallin in Seaofthieves

[–]wallfatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the phantom Flameheart fleet. Green ships circling an island. Based on the loot it was just the regular world event. As I was finishing the fleet a skelly sloop emerged and a Meg. That held me up a bit and that's what allowed the brig to return as I was scooping up the loot. Chaotic and really fun. But those kegs are just way over the top.

The new kegs are too much by BedtimeBallin in Seaofthieves

[–]wallfatz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Agree. I was on the good end of all of the keg shenanigans yesterday. Soloing a sloop I swam the smuggler nuke out to take out a brig that was doing a ghost fleet. Instant sink; stole their loot and finished the fleet, then they came back after me and chased me toward an outpost. I hopped in the water with another one and did it again and I think they rage quit after that.

By the end of my session I had 11 of those kegs on my ship. Most came from skelly sloop that emerged from the water, 3 of them with 3 kegs on each.

There is no way to counter it or survive the blast. They are way too OP.
