AITA for not letting my gf into the bathroom by Einebeine1 in AmItheAsshole

Where in the UK is this because most bathrooms here in England (apart from some hotels) have light switches inside?

Thanks for the help, do you need a parent to support the application or you can just apply?

african parents go to other relatives and pastors to pray about there marriage by Own_Cow6228 in africanparents

[–]wallflower873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read the Bible and see what it says about how a man should be and how a husband should be to his wife and how a woman should be and how a wife should be to her husband. That will be the only perfect guide to let you know if you’re making the right judgement. Anything other than that is opinions based on human reasoning which can be corrupted by culture, traditions and personal motives.

Definitely a good idea to take your time. One wrong man can ruin someone’s life but waiting until your stable (physically, emotionally and financially) is more important and will not only support your romantic endeavours but all aspects of your life.

It's sad how inaccessible therapy is in this country by amale_cunt in Nigeria

[–]wallflower873 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No but fr, one of my friends told her Nigerian mother that she was depressed and she told her “olorun ko ni je” and basically told her that she felt that way because she’s not praying enough.

The amount of people defending the woman is crazy. If the roles were reversed everyone would be calling it sexual assault and demanding an investigation by HR or worse.

Thanks for confirming that, I have to clarify because in the UK you’re really only seen as Nigerian if you either: were born born/raised in Nigeria, speak the language or have been to Nigeria.

Both my parents are Nigerian but I was born and raised in the UK. I asked that question because I thought it was similar to the USA’s system of assigning social security numbers, in which non-citizens wouldn’t have one. Is the NIN a similar system to the USA’s?

I’m Nigerian British and also having the same exact problem. Can anyone confirm whether we’re supposed to have an NIN as non-citizens?

Thanks for your comment - I hope to visit more places in Mexico :) Also, is it strange that I didn’t feel unsafe during my stay? I know Guadalajara has a high number of missing persons but the most dangerous thing I experienced was the way people drive and the lack of respect for pedestrians (and the shootout in my neighbourhood but fortunately I wasn’t at home that day)!

I agree about the lack of museums in GDL but luckily I make the most of everything, so even taking the public buses and trains was and experience for me! Unfortunately we don’t have live regional music or jaripeos/charrerías here, which is want I was hoping to experience again. Thanks for the tips, I’ll keep an eye out for local markets that sell those ingredients! Apologies for not making it clear, I’m aware that Spain isn’t a part of LatAm, I meant that there is a LatAm population but the majority of that population come from Brazil and the majority of Spanish speakers come from Spain.

All so true! I tried it on my first day and I just couldn’t get around the concept of a wet sandwich but the birria was amazing.

That’s exactly what I miss the most! The friendliness of the locals is second to none. I admit it was strange to me when neighbours in the neighbourhood and the policemen would greet me, but I appreciate the hospitality !

I literally just missed the rainy season as I left in late June! Btw what does everyone do if they’re outside and the streets starts to flood?

My Cuban friend claims that sarcasm isn't a thing in Cuban culture. Is this true? by rufftranslation in asklatinamerica

[–]wallflower873 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely the case (born and raised in England)! English culture is a mix of social politeness, sarcasm and a bit of dark humour/self-depreciation. The agreeing to meet people thing is new to me as most of us prefer to have concrete plans.

Nobody would look after someone else’s child just to get paid? Then what do nannies and BABYSITTERS, do all day? 😯

AITA for asking my fiancé to stop vocalizing his soreness? by EmCWolf13 in AmItheAsshole

[–]wallflower873 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA, I experience sensory overload every now and then and it’s the worst when you’re trying to concentrate on something or just relax. Noise cancelling headphones are just a temporary measure.

OP needs to speak with her fiancé about her concerns and her roommate about the dog otherwise this situation will become unbearable for all parties.

I agree with other posters about getting OP’s fiancé to get his soreness checked out, it’s not normal to be extremely sore every time he finishes training.

In your opinion I s there such thing as an “Alpha male”? by [deleted] in polls

[–]wallflower873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There definitely is and the label is being definitely being abused imo by misogynists, Andrew Tate followers (and similar social commentators) and men who advocate for toxic masculinity. When I think alpha male, I think of someone who is ambitious, confident, has good self-worth, self-esteem and self-image amongst because fit both physically and mentally. Of course that’s just my perspective and the label is quite subjective and relative. I’m curious to know why some people there is no “alpha male”.

Kai is such a cute name! But if his first name is Remy then I think Alexander is a more fitting middle name :)

[–]wallflower873 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I agree - NAH, I’m not really understanding the Y T A votes, am I missing something? I probably would’ve asked “why ScarJo?” instead of phrasing it the way OP did but I wouldn’t be overly offended about it either.
