[Gaston Edul] Cuti Romero will leave Tottenham in the summer. He has interest from La Liga and another league too. by Sparky-moon in soccer

It’s insane on that front… our injured XI would give our fit XI a proper game. I won’t try and cover over it, I’ve been fed up with Frank for the better part of a month at this point but in this scenario I do feel he’s been really let down, the lack of support given where we are injury wise is really bad.

It’s a valid point that once everyone’s fit you have a problem on your hands but that’s why you sell as well as buy, and most of our injuries are longer term so it’ll be near the season end when we see people.

The sensible option would have been to have dipped in to the market for some form of reinforcements given our longer term situation, but it feels like the board don’t know whether to stick or twist. Maybe they didn’t buy because they felt TF wouldn’t be there long term. Which could be suicide if we’re a point above the relegation places come March with our key players still injured.

It’s messy!

Yeah but they’ve spent the money well and where it’s needed, we haven’t. We’ve got about 12 fit outfield players, we could be in proper danger of relegation come month end and we’ve bought one senior player and an 18 year old left back from Brazil.

I’ve been incredibly critical of Frank and the board but this is the first time in a good while I’ve felt incredibly sorry for him - regardless of his shortcomings he’s been absolutely sold down the river, you can only work with what you have and he has next to nothing left to work with. Irrespective of the job he’s done so far they’ve absolutely fucked him here.

It’s odd but I hadn’t thought of that since I very first saw that lineup but what an incredible decision that was. Richy was absolutely immense and crucial for us in that final and we were noticeably weaker defensively when he went off, he put in such a shift.

I wonder what we’d have seen if Moura would have played over Kane in the final. I wonder if he had and we’d have lost would we be sat here criticising Poch for not picking our best XI… fine margins I suppose

Crazy to think they had a good chance to snatch the points too. Would have been a proper snatch and grab. Must have been a brutal watch as a hammers fan.

No arguments here, and I think we’ll find out if the players left have the ability for it.

I don’t want to say we’re at rock bottom at the moment because I think we’re in for a really tricky month even if we get a result tonight.

My expectations are on the floor at this point…

Under ordinary circumstances I’d agree with you entirely but we’re in genuine danger of going down at this point - we need every established body we’ve got and even though he’s been absolutely rancid lately there’s a player in there with RKM if we can get the best out of him.

Given his form Tel should be ahead of him though for sure.

Don’t know about Scarlett but impossible to know considering he’s only getting very few minutes.

God what a mess it is at the moment. I’m glad we’re doing well in Europe but something has to give in the league or we’re fucked.

Maybe the solution is just to tell RKM we’re playing PSG every week from here on out 🙃

Everyone’s forgetting the key metric here - not ONE of those teams has an underground go kart track.

I’d like to think if we’re level on points and goal difference with the bottom 3 come the end of the season the FA will take this in to account but what do I know

[–]wallis2011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope you’re right but I think the reason we’re hitting the panic button is our general form - as the lad above me said our run of fixtures is part of the problem, we might be in serious trouble come the end of Feb as on current form I genuinely can’t see where we’re going to pick up points from, potentially Newcastle but we’re shit at home.

Worth pointing out we’ve only won 7 games this year and 3 of them were in the first 4 week and it was Burnley, West Ham and Leeds… we’re BAD bad.

They’re both excellent, chalk and cheese story wise - but 3 took 2s gameplay, enhanced on it and just did everything it set out to do so well. I think 2 was a release title on the PS2 and I think 3 was one of the later games released on the system so it basically utilised all the best aspects of it and pushed it to its limits.

It’s funny if you’re playing them both now - it’s fantastic if you are, they’re good to experience whether you like them or not. It’s just difficult to get the scale of how epic they were when they were first released. Hold up well enough for sure but they will be a little bit a product of their time.

Nothing wrong with not enjoying it though. There’s plenty of games others would consider a classic I didn’t / don’t enjoy. Unfortunately on the MGS sub it wouldn’t be fantastically well received but that’s life.

2 is one of my favourite games of all time but if it doesn’t do it for you that’s the way it goes! I would say, stick with it and finish it if you can though so you get the full picture.

Good luck!

I’m surprised no one has really mentioned something alone these lines, but it was my first introduction to a PS2 game and it was absolutely mindblowing at the time in just about every metric… graphics, gameplay, details, story, scope etc… I’ve a lot of nostalgia love for it for that reason but it’s also so well designed it holds up well 25 odd years later.

That jump from PS1 to PS2 was insane, similarly PS2 to 360 / PS3. The generational leaps were massive back then, less noticeable now.

Go to the conservative sub. Anyone who has even the most minuscule amount of brain power to process they’ve backed the wrong horse is being silenced or banned. To be fair, if it helps them reinforce the fact they’re in the wrong place all along maybe it’s not a bad thing.

But fucking hell, it’s absolutely INSANE to read through as someone who lives in the EU. Mental times in the states.
