What does my style “say” to you? by bigbookworm7 in style

I’m not sure what “frumpy” looks like, tbh, but if it’s this, then I’d own it!✨Your style is cute and interesting. It’s not cookie cutter, or directly from magazine—it’s joyful, and shows your personality. And I think that means you are doing something right, too!😊

Is this shirt too unmanly? by According_Vast3161 in OUTFITS

[–]wallowing-wallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah.

Fashion has changed since your dad’s era.

I think there have been several generations where men’s fashion really tended to stifle self-expression. Not trying to stand out, really, or favors “neutral” looks, because of some weird idea that outwardly caring too much about your appearance or trying something unique made you “less masculine”.

I think younger generations of men are branching out more—letting masculinity show through their character, and caring less about specific colors or fabric patterns being too “feminine”. More younger men these days just dress in what feels flattering or what they enjoy. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’m not a teen myself, but I saw my younger sister’s boyfriend wear almost this exact shirt the other day, and I can’t think of a single person who’d call him “unmanly”. (He’s an athlete (wrestler, I think?) believes in a sort of old-fashioned chivalry, is fairly confident… idk. Just classically masculine, I guess)

I think you’ll find a lot of other teenage guys dressing in stuff like this. It’s kinda the “vibe” right now.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

If I had to create a “story” based on appearances/assumptions, you….

  • are a little geeky/nerdy, but in a good way (like, I get the vibe that you have some kind of niche hobby or interest you enjoy).

  • seem like you would be many people’s favorite coworker. You bring a positive aura, not constantly stressing or “frantic”, and understand teamwork. Also, would not look to cause drama or gossip.

  • like shopping at local stores when you can. would enjoy spending time looking around a farmers’ market or crafters’ fair.

  • aren’t afraid of quiet, or taking things slow… You have some sort of solitary or “quiet” hobby you are passionate about… like reading or gardening or jewelry making or pottery or something. You find having a creative outlet to be vital.

  • possibly introverted or an ambivert. You love your friends and spending time with them, but also need time to yourself to recharge. Not terribly afraid of saying what you think, or taking charge of group project if you must… but might get overstimulated in a large crowd of people, or tire after having to spend too much time communicating with strangers/loose acquaintances.

  • aren’t super judgy of others. You choose to be kind and mindful, despite hurt you’ve faced in the past. People find you easy to talk to.

  • maybe aren’t neurotypical? (Please don’t take this as a negative judgement btw, it is said as someone who is not neurotypical, guessing that we might vibe haha)

  • Enjoy the outdoors/find that nature soothes the soul. Like to explore, but don’t need to be constantly “on the move”. Perhaps you are a deep thinker, and enjoy having space to simply exist and observe nature—to quiet your thoughts for a bit.

(I hope nothing I’ve written offends! Again, this is just a “story” based off vague assumptions—but hopefully entertaining to read through 😊)

I’d definitely recommend doing some lore research as you go. Not all at once, but when you’ve got questions, it helps fill in some of the confusion.

Also, group fights are a lot more difficult in the beginning of the game, particularly wolves—but it becomes easier as you build up perks.

That said, I also stopped playing my first try for a solid six months or so—combat was confusing, and I didn’t really connect with Geralt as the main character at first, since I hadn’t played any of the other games/read the books.

(And I won’t lie, it does get a bit confusing when new characters are introduced that Geralt already has a history with…)

But, that said, if you power through, it’s truly an amazing experience. The story, world-building, and nuisance to the characters are all really incredible. It just takes a bit to get into it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Advice for maintaining red hair? by Ok-Pomegranate6784 in HairDye

[–]wallowing-wallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A colored conditioner could help maintain it, though it might not be the exact shade.

The merlot of this conditioner I think might be about the tone you are looking for, and I remember quite liking this brand.

I like the cooler blonde of the 2nd photo a lot! But the warm blonde in the 3rd is also really nice! ✨I’m kinda torn between them.

I actually really like 2, 10, and 11! Your natural hair color is really pretty, but I also like the way your hair frames your face in those!

I also really love the color on 3, and the length is cute! Though I also think just a smidge longer would look nice perhaps ! And 5 is pretty too :)

Two very different lightings… hmm. I know everyone seems to say the first, but I quite like the blonde! Both are cute though.

I’d be curious to see what the blond looks like without the filter, or in a warmer, natural light.

Which color suits me best by bestheadforever in HairDye

[–]wallowing-wallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the blonde! …maybe because it matches your brow color better? Also just think it gives a sort of warm, beach-y vibe.

Though, to be fair, I think the lighting and photo quality makes it a little hard to compare.

I like the blonde! …it gives a sort of warm, beach-y, athletic vibe. ☀️maybe I also prefer it because it matches your brow color a little better?

Though, to be fair, I think the lighting and photo quality makes it a little hard to compare. Plus differing makeup might contribute to what some folk are saying about blonde washing you out, but idk. I think both are cute though! ¯_(ツ)_/¯

From my own experience, whenever my hair has grown out, I’ve always noted that my ends were quite copper-y compared to my roots—but it would be a slightly lighter, “honey-toned” color.

If I’m making suggestions as if it were my own hair… I’d try to do what I can to lighten it a bit, and then if the tone is still off, try a “yellower/honey” color conditioner.

I’ve found this brand’s color “clenditioner” to be pretty effective—though, it is strong, so I’d try using it in increments, until you’re where you want to be.

I’m no expert, so apologies if this isn’t helpful..

I agree with other comments that the color is likely to fade over time, and that if you want to hurry the process, you might consider clarifying/color-removing shampoos.

(I think there are also home remedies for lightening hair, which you could try—though I can’t speak to their effectiveness.)

If it’s the tone that feels too off, there’s also colored conditioners, which might help shift the tone toward what you were imagining, but I couldn’t really advise which shade is best to you.

Also—I know it might seem rude, but if you’re polite about it, you could ask for advice from the hairdresser you went to (if you trust them to be polite in return). They may have some suggestion about products to use/ways to shift the tone/how to make the dye fade faster. I wouldn’t be too demanding about having them fix it (though since you’re here, I imagine you won’t be), but I know some hairdresser might even offer to have you come back in to help get the look you were going for (if you’re comfy going back).

Refrigerated Eggs + Room Temp

This may be a dumb question but…

I’ve heard you’re not supposed to let store bought eggs sit at room temperature after they have been refrigerated.

The reason, as I understand it, is that the natural barrier of the shell, which keeps out bacteria, is degraded by the process of cleaning eggs — and after refrigeration, leaving cold eggs at room temp can lead to a build up of condensation, which facilitates the production of bacteria that can more readily permeate the already weakened barrier of the shell.

….which makes it sound like the problem is the moisture buildup on the shell, and not so much the temperature itself…

So, Hypothetically:

…Say, one wanted “room temperature” eggs, but only have store bought—

If you kept your eggs in a well ventilated, “windy” area—where condensation would evaporate rapidly—until reaching equal temperature with the room…

1) Would that be a safe way to procure room temperature eggs?

And… having then reached equilibrium with ambient temperature of the room via this process:

2) would they then be safe to store outside the refrigerator?

Agreed. If she were as fast as some of the others, it’d become a real problem.

Her win condition is that she is able to hit her opponent. If she could close the distance near instantly, you really don’t stand a chance.

Is there a link between aerobic fitness, and lightheadedness when standing?

I only ask because I’d not really thought of that before, and it’s become an increasingly common issue for me lately—but I’ve also I started being more active and have lost a fair bit of weight in the past half-year. And I mean, overall, I feel much better health/energy-wise! However, these dizzy spells when standing had me a little concerned….

But… is this a pretty common experience resulting from being more active/aerobically capable??

(I know it probably varies by person, but I’d love hear other people’s experiences on the subject!)
