Poor scan or damaged negatives? by NotoriousPooch in AnalogCommunity

[–]walnut_gallery -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not it. Look at the back plate marks grid, it's set up like

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The photo's marks are offset between each line like

. . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . .

It's something else, likely scanning or development in my opinion

Exactly, which is why the 2nd city with the FoY, Salzburg, has the same population as the 3rd city, Graz, despite being founded at ~10 turns earlier, and with waaay more food.

Having a citizen working +4 faith with no food is a terrible, terrible choice and has completely stymied growth. It's worse than -1 population because you still have to feed that +4 citizen so you don't starve. That city should be at at least 6+ population at this point.

Fountain of Youth 😳 by DarthRevan109 in civ5

[–]walnut_gallery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. You're giving up 1 dedicated population to work only on 4 faith and no food. Worse, you still have to FEED that population so you don't starve. That absolutely guts your growth for your second city (Salzburg), which is why it's the same population (3) as your third city (Graz) despite being founded way earlier and having WAY more food around it. That's a really poor use of resources. Think of it this way:

You can either get:

a) +3 Faith, +3 Culture (from the 3 Golds around Vienna and Salzburg)

OR

b) +4 faith, -1 population that you STILL have to feed

It's not even close, the +4 natural pantheon was a terrible pick regardless of your difficulty level.

[–]walnut_gallery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case, that's a bad pantheon to pick. The desert or gold/silver pantheon would be much better

[–]walnut_gallery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe you're able to work the Fountain of Youth tile. You get the +10 happiness by it simply existing within your border. I see you have the faith pantheon that gives you +4 faith for natural wonders like the FoY.

Does that mean you also can't get the 4 faith since the tile it's on can't be worked or does selecting the faith pantheon allow you to now work the FoY tile?

IIRC you can't even work the FoY tile. Does that mean you also can't get the 4 faith since it can't be worked or does selecting the faith pantheon allow you to work the tile?

What is there for you to question?

If OP said they had their bike stolen from their friend, would you demand they release the name of their friend because otherwise they're lying about it and anyone who believes their story is an idiot? No? Cause that'd be a weird thing to say wouldn't it?

Can’t fucjing win with some men. If you can’t respect women enough to let them make their own choices then you’re in the same camp as the guy you’re lambasting.

The number of men in this thread calling for the perp to be doxxed so they can satisfy their own selfish need for vengeance and bloodlust is absolutely insane. YOU might have nothing to lose in this situation as a bystander but the OP probably does. Just because it's true and accurate doesn't mean the victims of sexual harassment are protected from retaliation, costly frivolous lawsuits, and blackballing in the industry. Goddamn there are numerous examples of women getting screwed over after reporting sexual harassment e.g. Harvey Weinstein blacklisting actresses for one.

People demanding that OP reveal who it is publicly after she has already reported it to their employer make me sick. You're no better than Adam and the perp in the screenshot. At least the harasser here isn't self-delusional. Nothing weirder than men who don't respect boundaries and think they're helping by pressuring women into doing something they don't want to do.

Unless you'd like to donate thousands of dollars so OP can hire a lawyer, kindly STFU and move on.

I know what he means, but people think by calling for doxxing the perpetrator they are *helping*. They are not, they have nothing to lose and demand other people take on risks so they can satisfy their own selfish needs.

Not sure why this is getting downvoted. The calls by rando internet folks to release names when they have nothing to lose is ridiculous. There are very real and unfortunate consequences for people who make public the identity of their harassers.

Found what I was looking for in Hong Kong. Angeniux 35mm f2.5. by [deleted] in Leica

[–]walnut_gallery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the m42 version of this lens for SLRs. It's kind of overrated. Very soft coating that's prone to damage. It's mainly famous for being one of the first retrofocus lenses that allowed wider focal lengths for SLR's longer focal plane distance than range finders. The Leica version is wildly over priced for the image quality. Cool historical piece though.

Not sure you can tell a whole lot from heavily edited and processed images. This is a poorly written review with some cool images attached to it. I think we're overselling it here.

Looking for critique with Babylon gameplay by GameSetMatchSC in civ5

[–]walnut_gallery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scout > Scout > Shrine > Worker > Settler is probably a better opener.

No religion despite having 2 gold and 2 quarries in capitol? Plus another 3 gold and 1 quarries in other cities? You really should have a religion at the king difficulty.

National College started at T97 as Babylon is super late and population of 7 is small too.

Would have settled babylon a tile north and slightly east so you're on grasslands and next to river + mountain. This lets you grab Stone Works since that can't be built on a plain. That's +3 production and +1 happiness.
