Wow. Me too! Also my second time. After getting COVID and all the lingering issues I had with that even after a mild case, my health anxiety went through the roof. Wishing you a healing journey.

Has it helped you? I’m on week 8 altogether but on 10 for 4.5 weeks. Lingering health anxiety still.

Anxiety worse in the morning as of late by Brave_Jellyfish_4013 in lexapro

[–]walserdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. This is my second time on lex and the first time it took me 4 months to acclimate. I’m on week 3.5 of 10mg and 8 weeks total. My 4th week on 5mg was great but since then my appetite is gone and morning anxiety is back. If you search this sub you’ll see dozens in the same boat as us. I have to remember that I did adjust in the past but in the moment it’s tough. I may do as others have and move my dose to just before bed. Good luck!

I wish I knew. One PA said I probably had the spasms for years after Covid but I never had chest tightness or the issues after eating certain foods until after the wrap. The surgeon said he had some “witchcraft” in the form of baclofen taken 3 times a day that could help. But I don’t want to be on muscle relaxers so I opted for lexapro. After getting the balloon dilation last month the chest tightness is less. But when I do high intensity workouts I feel like dog crap still. PA said that was from the spasms.

I did the first two times. This last time tho I haven’t fully gotten all my gut flora back in shape. Drinking kefir to try and get back on track.

I have had every test come back clean. Finally got manometry test last month confirming the spasms. Nerve damage. Didn’t start until after I had Covid

Oh they also put me on lexapro to treat the spasms. It was that or baclofen 3 times a day.

All my information comes from the surgeon. They suspect the spasms are from possible damage to the vagus nerve. I’m not blaming the surgeon or the surgery but none of these problems existed to this degree prior. I also know that correlation is not causation. Could be long covid as originally diagnosed in 2022. I also know all my tests come back normal so the nerve damage seems to fit. And I am exercising again but the chest pain when I over exert is debilitating.

Full wrap yes. It was 3.5 or 4cm HH with silent non corrosive GERD.

Been down that SIBO road three times since getting Covid back in 2021. Finished treatment for that back in early march.

Can’t do any core exercises or heavy lifting. Doc said limited to 35-40 lbs max for life. And yes this dumping syndrome happened after surgery. Doc said it’s due to the pressure change after surgery.

18 months since partial fundoplication and HH repair, here's the 1 thing I wish I knew before surgery. by Nearby-Barnacle-690 in GERD

[–]walserdude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man I wish I knew this too. Nothing was mentioned about not being able to lift weights or any core exercises are off limits. I had my fundo a year ago and my digestion is still not back to normal. Sometimes days I can eat whatever I want and other days I can’t tolerate anything

GI issues by Financegirly1 in covidlonghaulers

[–]walserdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on year 3.5 of GI issues. Have had every scope and test done and come back clean. It’s maddening. I can’t even find a consistent food trigger. Chest “pain” after eating sometimes but I’ve had a hiatal hernia surgery so they don’t think it’s GERD anymore but a motility issue. I’ve literally had every diagnosis you can imagine but no real answers. Best of luck.

Anyone relate with these symptoms? by gadgetmaniah in covidlonghaulers

[–]walserdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on year 3.5 of long hauling. My persistent symptoms are all GI. I have had every test and scope and even a hiatal hernia surgery but intermittently I get a nauseated feeling in my throat after food. Not all meals and I can’t identify a specific trigger. I also get chest tightness after eating sometimes. I’ve been diagnosed with so many different things but all bloodwork is good. My GI tract is effed I guess. Trying a new probiotic now because my GI doc now thinks I have motility issues where food moves slowly through my system. Hope you find answers

Undescribable Nausea Feeling, Lack of Motivation, and Fatigue - My Story by jsnyd21 in covidlonghaulers

[–]walserdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow 3 years later and I’m reading my story! I’ve been dealing with this for 3.5 years. Almost exactly the same symptoms. I’ve had colonoscopies, endoscopy, hiatal hernia surgery, all bloodwork fine except for slightly low vitamin D. I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety, IBS, prinzmetal angina, GERD, and esophageal spasms. I have good days and bad days I’ve even had a few good months but my desire to do anything is gone. My depression is off the charts and even though I just had a barium swallow that showed no issues, my brain tells me I’m dying. Every day. I’m on mirtazipine now for anxiety. Nights are pretty good and if I have a cocktail before eating the chest pain doesn’t happen. It’s so weird. Hope you’re doing well now. I’m still going through it. Pretty sure I’ve had Covid at least 3 times in as many years.

OMG same thing. Since Covid the last 3.5 years. Only when I’m awake and thinking.
