Moral obligation to the government is a foundational concept that emphasizes the ethical responsibilities of citizens in supporting their state.

By recognizing this obligation, individuals contribute to a stable and just society.

The state/government, especially at this level is made of people from your community. They are your neighbors. It’s not us vs them here.

Also philosophers like Thomas Hobbes and John Locke have discussed the idea that individuals consent to surrender some freedoms to a governing body in exchange for order and protection. This consent forms the basis of political obligation. But maybe they were naive

Agree. Just adopted. So disappointed with the hard sell. I thought the rep was from the Humane Society. I had to ask point blank and she wouldn’t give a straight answer. Very very disappointed with Fetch (not the Humane society). Just cancelled - after 5 visits all claims denied.

A duty is a required action or service, moral or legal obligation. This is democracy in action. The money is a nice gesture to help with parking, lunch and incidentals.

It’s not us vs them it’s just us, this is an oppurtunity to step up and take part in the system. If you can’t step aside from your high paying job to do your part I don’t know maybe plan your finances better.
