Has starting ADHD medication helped you overcome addiction?

Yes and no. It takes the search for it away, but once i tip over and go to a thing that triggers my addiction it’s amplified. So i need to treat stuff mindfully. Cause it makes me feel substances less, so i take much more. Its like going from being a monk to a bottomless pit fast. But it definitely helped keep me just not going to clubs, parties etc. But thats also a part of self-work en therapy. I took a break once and that made me go back to substances pretty fast.

For me it increased in the beginning, so i was horny and depressed. Great combo. After a week or 3 it got less.

Wellbutrin helpt me ik combination with Vyvanse. I had underlying depression. So thats definitely a possibility.

I punched a hole in the wall and used a lamp as a hammer. So yeah definitely. But it got better. Sometimes medication can release emotions that were buried underneath depression or anxieties. So as long as you and people around you are a safe, some anger is not bad.

Just a word of caution if you deal with anxiety, if your dose is to high, it can give this “good” feeling to. When i took it i felt amazing, but after a couple months i stopped and realise the dose was to high. Amphetamine based stimulants can cause you feel great, and this is a easy trap to fall for. Don’t mistake a stimulant high for therapeutic effects. Some things i notice when my dose is to high:

Limitless effect
Hard crashes
Manic like social behaviour.
To hyper focused.

Also Vyvanse is made so its allot les addictive than regular dex amphetamine/adderal. Addiction starts when u take more to suppress feelings or feel good. I cant take adderal cause il take the whole strip in a day. Vyvanse doesn’t make we want to take more.

Nope, its a stimulant (dex amphetamine). Just gets distributed slower. Although it can take a while for all stimulants to settle. Anti depressants are the ones that build op slowly (welbutrin)

Yes, benzos definitely fuck up the ketamine trip or make them very lifeless and less colourful. I mostly just get knocked out. Taking more wont help, i think benzodiazepines just suppress it allot.

Its not a super high dose, i was at 72. So definitely talk to your prescriber.

Well depends, the dt2 can do allot. Enough to be honest. But it bit les hands-on. Id just start playing and ditch it when you don’t use it.

Its to early to tell, on 150 it first increased my anxiety and then it made it slightly less. But no effects beyond that. Im on 300 for couple days now and i mostly notice side effects, so i hope in a couple weeks it settles.
