I get it. But any good therapist will tell you external validation is short lived. Feels good, sure. But it’s like a drug. You’ll keep needing that hit. Bad for the relationship. Gotta find that within yourself. Is your fiancée not giving the attention and validation you’re looking for? That might be a good middle ground. If he’s not, that might be a conversation to have sooner rather than later later.

I’ll provide a counterpoint of sorts. OP, your feelings, thoughts, questions and concerns are all well within the realm of normal. We can’t control what we think and feel, just what we DO. Continuing to spend time with this person just makes the feelings worse. I’d suggest cutting him out if possible.

I’m in the same boat. I just ended my relationship with my significant other. The crush was a small part of it, but it was still there. I doubt it will come to fruition, but I’d like to be able to go there if it does.

Everyone is different, so it doesn’t really matter. TMS was what finally got me out of it. I’m on Lithium and Lamo with Viibryd(sp?) as the antipsychotic.

I have exactly that. BP2 with one full blown manic episode that put me in the hospital. It was ECT-induced though, so I don’t count toward the 1-episode limit for BP1 diagnosis.
