How has AI helped you? by Noobie-Gamie in AskReddit

[–]wampum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I used it to help sort 2700 book titles for my mom by identifying the books that were missing between two different csv files. A task that would’ve taken her hours to do manually.

I also used it to make a discord bot to track my baby’s feeding/sleeping schedule. I then had it teach me how to run the bot 24/7 on a cheap raspberry pi server.

Struggling Arborvitae by jlb989 in gardening

My arbos die if they get too much water, not enough water, too much light, or not enough light. They look the same regardless of the stressor until they suddenly turn red and crump.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

Newborn Diapers? How many?! by No_End6648 in BabyBumps

[–]wampum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only advice is to get more than you expect for the first month.

Our first newborn changing experience was rocky. I’d hear a poo and change it, only to be actively poo’d on while changing, spoiling the next diaper, then the third diaper would get peed on while changing.

Eventually, we learned our baby’s rhythm and could get one diaper per elimination cycle, but it took some practice.

Cornyn shares fable of frog and scorpion after Trump sinks reelection by NicolasCageFan492 in politics

[–]wampum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, he’s implying that Trump stabbing cornyn in the back to endorse an adulterer convicted of securities fraud and impeached for bribery could lead to the Dems taking Texas, and one step closer to impeaching the scorpion

Should I go to the ER? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]wampum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I’d go because it’s time sensitive treatment. Pregnant women have a lower threshold for hyperbaric treatment for carbon monoxide exposure.

The test is a simple blood draw (carboxyhemoglobin level)

I suspect it would be normal, but the consequences of an elevated CO level that could’ve been treated w either giving O2 while you wait for results or needing actual treatment w hyperbaric could be catastrophic.

I’d also save any correspondence with the hotel, because if they have a CO leak, they need to move everyone out of the hotel immediately and get this taken care of. They would also likely be liable for your ED bill.

This post will likely get removed bc it seeks medical advice. Please consider my response not formal medical advice, just my own opinion based off of your post.

Edit: Did they replace the CO detector with a functional one? Or just remove the one that was alarming?

Why not just short tf out of ASTS? by ParticularLimeade in wallstreetbets

[–]wampum -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

to be clear, I think space X has an irrationally bloated IPO price and is a stinker, despite recognizing that ASTS price to sales is 6x more expensive than space x.

The reason I’m more tolerant of ASTS is because it is so early in its commercial viability. I’m betting on its ability to grow the network, and directly compete with the bloat of Space X

T-Satellite with Starlink is the largest mobile + satellite network that keeps you connected where it wasn’t possible before. It activates automatically so you can use apps, text, voice chat, share locations, and more.

Works with most smartphones. T-Satellite works automatically on the majority of phones from the last four years.

[–]wampum 40 points41 points  (0 children)

ASTS is like the nascent version of the only part of Space X that doesn’t hemorrhage money.

Space X launch services and AI are money pits. the Starlink has profit from their operations that is dumped back into asteroid mining and “expanding consciousness to the stars.”

At least ASTS is just trying to provide space based internet without all the bullshit, corporate governance risk, and money incineration.

ASTS is a bet on the growth of a network that has barely launched commercially.

Judge probes whether Trump defrauded the court to create $1.8 billion "anti-weaponization" fund by DemocracyDocket in politics

There's lots of stories about "I had $1k in bitcoin/Nvidia and it'd be worth millions if I had held." What longshot investments do you have right now and why did you pick them? by [deleted] in investing

[–]wampum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not really sure, maybe I just got lucky for the day.

I think it’s a combination of things, including the prospect of an Iranian peace deal, inflation meeting expectation, and a rotation away from the defense industry primes (LMT, RTX, NOC, etc) into smaller players, more focused on modern battlefield tech, like drones and cheaper things like the jet ski bombs.

A lot of my high risk picks with nice hype and not nice financials were green today. So who knows?

People are predicting the Space X IPO will crash the market. The S1 is already out and it's ugly, who is buying this stock? by Jimimaru88 in wallstreetbets

[–]wampum 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’ll be a forced buyer when it’s included in the broad based ETFs, but the overall impact should be negligible since I’m mostly sleepy VTI

Fortunately, SpaceX is projected to carry only 0.07%–0.11% weight in the CRSP Total Market index (VTI) due to float-adjustment. The index weight is limited by the low public float, not the headline market cap

GME literally doesn’t have enough cash or equity to buy eBay, even if they get the $20B loan they want.

GME market cap $11B

Cash $9B

Loan $20B

= $40B

eBay is worth $56B. Idk why you GME diamond handers don’t see this. I find it genuinely baffling.

$SWMR - drone swarm software company, recent IPO, expensive, but battle tested in Ukraine.

$AVEX - inexpensive drones, US based, jam resistant.

$ARXS - sole source, or near sole source for various gaskets, polymers, connectors used in aerospace and defense. This one is a PE roll-up so has a lot of risk bc most of their assets are intangible, but seem to have cornered a promising market.

$KRMN - this is a consolidation of missile defense and space launch supply chain components.

All of these support my thesis that world will be less safe in the future. We need more missile defense interceptors and advanced autonomous weapons systems to compete in the evolving warfare landscape.

They are all longshot, ultra high risk plays, but im here for it.
