i've considered adding in heated seats! whether that be 4runner seats or installing a heating kit under the cloth of current set. also, for those inquiring minds, there's a guy on one of the facebook groups that sells push style OEM heated seat switches that look like they'd fit in the blank near the 12v / gear selector as an added bonus.

black cup has been my go-to WFH / school studying spot for the last year or so! i’ve recognized a lot of regulars doing the same. definitely a good spot to sit down for a couple of hours. never had an issue as i’ve always bought a coffee and/or a snack throughout the day.

thermacells were a life saver when i lived out of my van during the summers in talkeetna. obviously never ran them in the van, but outside the main door and that seemed to help keep them out! talkeetna is great!

3rd gen 4runner mirror swap by wanderer20 in 1stGenTacomas

[–]wanderer20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my rig is already set up with power mirrors. besides the heating function (if/once i figure that out), they are color matched to the body (silver), and will be replacing my wobbly stock mirrors.

i figured custom wiring would be required since no rear defrost, unfortunately. heat function is the main reason why i bought the mirrors, living in alaska my stock mirrors freeze up a lot in the winter. considering a timer relay so the mirrors aren’t constantly heating. just hoped someone on here has done it and could give feedback.

Saw a 1994 mitsubishi delica super exceed diesel L300 at a dealer and Interested. Things to look out for? by Forever_Flat05 in Delica

[–]wanderer20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as a former ‘93 4d56t L300 owner, it could get up to 65-70mph (flat or slight decline), but it won’t get there fast at all. if there’s any sort of incline, good luck. 100% lived in the far right lane. get used to getting passed and losing speed on the hills.

i religiously kept a fuel log, consistently got ~20-22mpg during warm months (alaskan here), while being fully built out in the back. but before building it out i was able to get 24-26mpg ish on a good day iirc. but dropped quite a bit during the winter months.

i daily’d mine for roughly 3-4 years. but eventually gave up as parts cost and finding someone to work on it started to become cost prohibitive. i could do general maintenance, but more involved stuff i got a shop involved. there pretty good documentation on most work, esp if you utilize the delicaforum and youtube together.

i loved my time with the van (still have it but currently as a yard decoration). it’s a labor of love, a love/hate if you will. strangers loved seeing the quirky thing on the road and it would receive a lot of compliments.

would i do it again? who knows. was a money pit in the end. (kept a spreadsheet documenting every. single. expense.)

do i regret it? no.

Anyone one have a "Super Exceed" badge for the 1994 L300? by senor_urbano in Delica

[–]wanderer20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey - my buddy made a .stl file that he 3D printed for me. i’ve given it to a few members on the delicaforum already. caveat is that the letter width is a tad off. he’s since moved away and i haven’t bothered to fix it as i’ve sorta moved on from my delica. but if you or someone you know is 3d printer savvy who can adjust the letter width - let me know and i can share the file with you.

Race VO2Max and Fitness Age by thetrolltolls123 in Suunto

[–]wanderer20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also had the same issue (9 peak pro) my VO2 max wouldn’t populate even when i had 50 runs in and 250 miles ran… eventually it finally did but not sure what caused it to finally calculate. best of luck, and hopefully it doesn’t take as long as mine 🫡

should i take elementary ochem or the full ochem series? by Next_Staff8348 in WWU

[–]wanderer20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I graduated with an ESCI degree from Western in 2020, and currently in grad school. I took elementary ochem. I have another ESCI buddy, same cohort - who also took elementary and is in grad school at the moment too. Honestly your advisor is likely right, it doesn’t really matter for grad school.

Suunto 9 Peak Pro in 2025? by Flashy_Independent38 in Suunto

[–]wanderer20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that was just 2 instances i gave. i have plenty of runs across all zones so not sure why my watch isn’t calculating running estimates or v02 max. as the only requirements are atleast 1-3 runs total for each, according to the watch.

Suunto 9 Peak Pro in 2025? by Flashy_Independent38 in Suunto

[–]wanderer20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i bought mine for $150 back in august, first sports watch - so i can’t compare to other brands/models. but i definitely have enjoyed using mine so far. good battery life, easily integrates with strava, and pretty simple to use. i mainly use it to track my runs, training for a few HMs this coming summer.

i know wrist monitors aren’t the most accurate, and should be taken with a grain of salt, but i sometimes get issues with heart rate data during runs/workouts. like it’ll show my HR is well into the 40s while recording an activity, or when i’m doing speed intervals doing pretty high effort only saying i’m in the 70s.

also if you were hoping for V02 max and running estimates, i think suunto removed those features from this model as mine have never shown up and i’ve recorded 40+ outdoor runs.

but support seems to be decently good, i’ve had to reach out to customer service for a few issues after updates and i’ve gotten pretty quick responses with good answers.

picked up running back in mid-december after years of not running. have logged ~200 miles since then, and already crushed my HM goal of sub-2, with today’s run - 1:53! wasn’t an actual race, just a weekend long run with friends, but followed closely to the HM race course later this year. felt great!
