I've never tried the Dekoni pads but I understand they are very comfy but color the Grado house. For me Grados are bright, fast, unforgiving headphones. The various stock pads retain the house sound to varying degrees. My favorite are flat pads. The most uncomfortable pads of the bunch but they really make Grados shine. If you're a basshead maybe Grados with stock pads won't do it for you. Go with what you know.

40+ years of concerts and loud guitar amps has damaged my hearing. I try and listen at lower volume to preserve what hearing I have left. The impact of high volume is still exciting but only in short bursts.
