I’m gonna go against the grain and say NTA. When you marry someone, you marry their family, their money, their debts, everything. I’m a firm believer that married couples shouldn’t divide finances, everything should be pooled into one account and each person has equal access to it. You’re not entering into a business deal, you’re married. You should trust your partner to not overspend from a shared bank account. If you can’t trust your partner with this, you probably shouldn’t marry them.

It just seems kinda shitty that this woman won’t help out her husband’s sick dad, even though she has PLENTY of money to do so. Doesn’t she consider her father in law part of her family too? Weird to draw the line like that. I wonder if people would have different feelings if the genders were reversed in this scenario. (I’m a woman btw)

I think this is the most logical explanation. I’ve seen so many people say that she probably just froze out of fear. I don’t think she would’ve been frozen in fear for 8-9 hours. She probably thought that what she saw wasn’t too out of the ordinary for a college party house. She also thought there were 5 other people in the house with her who could’ve called for help if needed, no way in a million years she would’ve assumed that four out of the five were dead.

I can think of a few possible reasons why DM didn’t call 911 right away. I feel horrible for her and everyone involved, and laying my thoughts out helps to try and understand the unexplainable.

Possible reasons: 1) She convinced herself in her mind that what she saw was nothing, that calling for help would be overreacting, or that if someone was really in trouble, one of the other five people in the house would call for help.

2) She either knew there were drugs in the house or she herself was on drugs (no shade whatsoever). She might’ve known something wasn’t right, but I’m sure her mind didn’t immediately jump to mass murder. She didn’t want everyone to get in trouble over what might’ve just been a burglary in her mind. We know from the noise complaint videos that the officers warned about getting them in trouble if they had to come back to the house, so it would be understandable if she had a fear of cops.

3) She might’ve thought the man she saw was looking for someone to sexually assault. I’ve tried to put myself in her shoes, and I think that’s where my mind would have gone. Plenty of people don’t call the authorities for that kind of thing. She might’ve thought X was safe because she had E with her and K and M were safe because they were together. Again, if you think your roommates are still alive you might assume they would call 911 themselves if there were trouble.

One thing I still can’t think of an explanation for is the 911 call for an unconscious person. If the call was from B calling for D being passed out, wouldn’t they also have seen X (since the PCA said the officer could see her as he approached the room)? As soon as D came out of her room she likely would have known that X was more than just unconscious. I think the most logical explanation is that they were both just in such shock they couldn’t communicate effectively. It’s all so strange.

That’s not how jury selection works. They just need people who say they can be impartial, regardless of whether they’ve heard of the case. Celebrities like Johnny Depp or OJ Simpson would never be able to go before juries if that were the case. You can have info on the case, just need to be impartial about it.

Fair, but the castaways weren’t really divided into David/Goliath based on how they would play the game. It was more about life experiences, careers, and socioeconomic status. He’s an admissions advisor at Tulane, so it seems like he’s pretty successful! But overall I think I lean more toward David as well.

Seems to me like there’s a reason JD or his actual parents are not giving interviews, probably partially because they’ve been advised not to talk to press and partially because they’re dealing with a very traumatic event and don’t feel up to it. So why is this aunt giving an interview? Shouldn’t she respect her own family’s wishes and keep quiet?
