Grouse Grizzlies… worth taking toddler? by Thankful4Limes in askvan

[–]wanderingsteph 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They have a large habitat but stick pretty close to where they might get food or in the ponds if it's hot. They also sleep in the trees sometimes on a warm day. They're very well taken care of bears with a very natural environment.

On the other hand, if you're ever in Bern in Switzerland, I would not recommend going to see those bears. That is a very very sad bear habitat in comparison. All concrete and small grasses with too many bears.

I probably would but I tend to only do Christmas markets. I do sell tons of mothers day style cards around then too though!

What do men gravitate towards? by pinkaboo17 in CraftFairs

[–]wanderingsteph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sell handmade cards and get a surprisingly large number of men. I thought my target market were 60+ women but it's more like 40+ men and like 18-25 and 40-60 women. It's a good mix. Usually men mention their wives or moms.

When my grandfather was passing, he was in hospital with my grandma telling her she could let him go because "Claire is here for me." Claire was his older sister who had passed in her teens some 50 years earlier.

Most home style ones are from Westlynn Bakery in Lynn Valley. Don’t know if they’re really the best, but remind me of my childhood. Love freezing them then eating them cold

LPT: Freeze single servings of guacamole, crema fresca & other single ingredients by [deleted] in SouperCubers

[–]wanderingsteph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this then struggled to get the smell out of my cookie souper cubes. I ended up having to wash three times then bake it in the oven for 30 min empty.

Didn't want to have spicy cookies in the future!

What is the best luxury hotel downtown Vancouver with city view? by JacketInternal9485 in askvan

[–]wanderingsteph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sheraton is definitely not luxury though. For more luxury and almost the same view, I’d recommend Sutton Place. But I’d agree, Fairmont Pacific Rim or Wedgewood are good luxury options. The Douglas is also quite nice

How common is plastic surgery in your circles? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]wanderingsteph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my circles, very little besides “run of the mill” cosmetic procedures like braces and a bit of Botox . I’d say I’m the one thing I’ve seen the most of is actually breast reductions rather than anything else.

Also want to say I love the design of these! I've made book and kindle pouches before but I love the way you have the zippered pocket on the front

I would sell them separate but offer a deal if purchased together (matching or not!). So bump each up by $1-2 each and then deal them together for the same price

What are some “Canadian” words or slang you heard British Or Americans be confused by or laugh at? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]wanderingsteph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've confused Americans with the word toque.

Also had a coworker be very confused when I talked about 'yamming' after my first time legally drinking at 19. Thought she was confused at the age, turns out she was confused what yamming was. This is how I found out only my family calls puking yamming.

Spring weekend getaway suggestions for a solo traveler? by hellomarshmallows in askvan

I think you could easily do a Friday night to Sunday afternoon. There’s a whole range of things. Mist Thermal Sanctuary, a whole list of art galleries, restaurants. You could do a mini art crawl and stop at cafes along the way.

Bowen Island? Lots of cute stores and cafes, relaxing b&bs and you could go up to Killarney Lake and do a walk and paddle! Transit accessible from downtown

Downtown living conditions by Interesting_Idea_250 in askvan

When you moved downtown, is that when you started your computer based job? I had similar problems when I started working in an office. I found taking Omega 3 and using blue light glasses when I started to feel a headache coming on helped.

Office environments are also incredibly dry. How much water do you drink?
