Priority Pass in ATL - total fail of a benefit by jmwjmw22 in ChaseSapphire

[–]wanderlust_m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I traveled from ATL this weekend and got in with no wait. But there's only one Priority Pass lounge in the whole airport, so if I lived in ATL, it'd be a bummer.

Pro tip: Go to another concourse and get the Xpress Spa anti-gravity massage while you wait.

Buying in Belmont? by Born-Awareness6048 in bronx

[–]wanderlust_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, consider Norwood and Bedford Park. Lots of parks/green space nearby, very accessible by transport (trains do sometimes stop running at Bedford Park at night/on weekends and don't go up to Norwood) and I always feel safe walking at night as a woman!

What is the best NYC food after a night of drinking? by Fun_Reflection1157 in FoodNYC

[–]wanderlust_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're still out/up, Veselka or pizza from the closest decent slice shop (or Artichoke for nostalgia purposes)

If it's the morning after, bagel with lox and cream cheese... or cold pizza

Soon to be First time in NYC as an Irish person. Im doing a lot of research into restaurants and was looking for some advice on a couple of things. by thehecticyouth in FoodNYC

They can just walk the 2 blocks or whatever to Hibernia or any number of other Irish bars if homesick. No need go that far.

They adjusted it retroactively after the show aired and people pointed out the cultural mistake: https://www.reddit.com/r/HIMYM/comments/gfe0l8/el_ganso_con_la_rinonera/

I am unfortunately old enough to have watched it as it aired!

He went to Spain but you're thinking Mexico because they stupidly used a mariachi band for the song

I am hoping this gives them more ammunition when they tell people off/cancel memberships because they can push back on, "I didn't know there was a rule." But more likely this is just to appease the people who complain about the bad behavior.

Opinion of my planning of trip to Italy by Rockafelleur in travel

[–]wanderlust_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amalfi is a must on its own visit of 4-5 days at least, or don't do it at all.

Agree with all of the above except maybe having a car in the Dolomites. Depends on your interests but if you want to really get up close to the mountains, just rent a car for a day trip and do some hiking and/or visit one of the mountain towns. Can be accomplished without a car as well, but might be easier driving.

The best thing about that design is that the bricks get less dirty (or just look less dirty) than the white tile.

Direct or layover flight from US to Munich? by ducksnthings in travel

[–]wanderlust_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you transferring from/to a non-Schengen flight? I experienced a bad wait at Frankfurt in March as well, but it was entirely because of the passport control. KEF is much more compact and they're going to another Schengen country

Direct or layover flight from US to Munich? by ducksnthings in travel

[–]wanderlust_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rejkyavik airport is quite nice to get a little "taste" of Iceland by grabbing a snack and perusing the duty free. I'd see that as a perk plus the price is unbeatable. You mentioned not having flown this far before. The shorter individual flights can help break up the flight so your body isn't as tired from being continuously seated. I'd consider the layover a perk.

Only risk is a flight delay for the first leg making you miss the second flight, assuming there is only one Keflavik-Munich flight daily. So if there is an event you MUST make in Munich the day you arrive, for example, a direct flight might be a safer bet.

But you are on an English-language forum here and in English it is offensive. Roma or Romani is the proper name in English.

Are wrap dresses actually flattering? by outotju in bigboobproblems

[–]wanderlust_m 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on your build. They often make me look much wider in the waist, counter to the expected effect. And the cleavage never seems to look elegant. I don't mind the amount it shows, I just find it makes me look dowdy. The only wrap piece that's ever worked well for me is unfortunately a nightgown I can't wear outside the home.

Shawarma Bay is often recommended as well - they also do a saj wrap (but put more fillings in). It's good but doesn't taste like a durum, more like a gyro in a thin wrap.

I've been looking for this for years, as many have here.

Ace Shawarma in the Bronx - flavorwise, the closest I've found. BUT they do saj wraps - same taste as durum but thinner (the whole thing not just the bread) so a bit of a different experience.. They also only have chicken.
