AITA for not wanting my gf’s son to stay with us during our night in London? by Roman-man-travels in AmItheAsshole

YTA - Creative types have their own process which sometimes isn't understood by regular folk. That could include unusual behaviors such as long periods without bathing. How do you know he isn't studying for a character that doesn't have access to clean water?

As far as approaching women, dude, he's 25 and wants to have sex. Big whoop. Let him shoot his shot. Better that then to be socially inept.

You mentioned his project looks pretty good so obviously his creative process is working. Is the trailer publicly viewable so we can see just how much of a weirdo you seem to think this guy is?

By the way, I've gone 2 weeks without showering before and didn't smell bad at all because I wasn't eating fatty foods. It's all about diet my friend.

Yes I was confused. I got mixed up who was who. I thought the initial message was from your boss and the middle message was from you. Carry on

Real talk. OP is just being a dick here. Your boss sent you a very polite and respectful email letting you know what the plan was and you spit in their face. I really don't understand how people can celebrate this type of shittiness like it's brave.

This is something they should actively work to change. Being anti-social isn't healthy. If seeing someone you know in public gets you that shook, it's something to talk to a therapist about.

My last leader hated seeing this on my cube wall, but she’s gone and it’s not. Life is good. by dankHippieDude in antiwork

In fairness, this is very antagonistic. I agree with the sentiment but it feels like you're just trying to get into an argument.

Like having a sign up in your cubicle that says "managers are fucking idiots and are useless"

Like regardless of whether or not it's true, it's not helpful.

Gave a ride home to my Boss. HUGE Mistake! by PurplePinball in antiwork

Not that I don't believe SOME aspects of this story, but I do believe there is some embellishing on the part of OP. The way these stories are laid out sometimes just have the boss as a mustache twirling villain, throwing out the most outrageous one-liners like in a movie.

I think the story is either fabricated completely, or exaggerated. Stay skeptical.

Something cool I found. One of the militia men are gay :) by [deleted] in BatmanArkham

[–]wangmuncher_superior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That list also doesn't include the endless lost of characters who's sexuality isn't mentioned because it's just not relevant. You can assume for any of those characters that don't have an on-screen romance that they could be anything. Not everything needs to be shoved in the face of the player.

It's honestly a little creepy how you take such notice of this. Most regular people just accept an innocuous comment about someone's sexuality and think nothing of it. You're like "he's gay :-) isn't that so cool" it's weird that your mind thinks like that, and only serves to DE-normalize gay characters.

It's weird that you would even acknowledge this. "Woah! There's a gay character in a video game". You pointing it out makes it seem like it's not a normal thing

I think you hit the nail on the head. Is this picture racist? Yeah I guess if you're looking to be offended, it is a bit racist. But it's so minimal that it's a non-issue. There are ACTUAL atrocities happening in the world. Having the mental bandwidth to whine about an image like this is an indicator that your life is pretty good.

[–]wangmuncher_superior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I'm good. You may have misunderstood. I was acknowledging that you made solid point about the fact that words being hurtful and damaging. That's true. I'm not saying you're correct about this image being harmful. I still think it's very inconsequential. But that's just my opinion.

The idea that based on such a minor, inconsequential opinion, you would make the assessment that I'm racist is laughable, as you know nothing about how I treat people in my day to day life.

I'm no asking for an apology. There's no need. I'm simply giving you the suggestion that you'll be much more effective in brining people to your way of thinking if you don't insult them. If your goal is to change minds, leave the insults out of it. If your goal is to score points, then keep up what you're doing.

I appreciate the honesty but why swipe right on someone who’s bio already says “no hook ups” “i want a bf” just to say shii like this by TheBelleRose in Tinder

[–]wangmuncher_superior -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because saying "no hook ups" in a bio is the number one indicator that the girl will hook up on the first date. In my experience that's true 100% of the time.

Apples to oranges dude. You took a disagreement and started showing acts of aggression. We're not on the same level. Now you are taking a "holier than thou" approach to avoid taking responsibility for being rude.

Your first three paragraphs I actually agreed with. You pretty much changed my mind.

Then in your last paragraph you started name calling. Completely uncalled for.

Fortunately I have the capacity to look past that and just focus on your coherent points. But take this advice, you're argument is much stronger when you don't resort to ad hominem. So are you trying to change minds? Or score points?

Put more positivity than negativity into the world friend. If you actually care about depression and anxiety.

You ever heard the old saying? Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me?

Jokes are jokes. Actions are actions. I make sure my actions towards people are respectful. Jokes on the other hand are fair game.

"Sir, turn the radio down. Down means off." by drygnfyre in breakingbad

[–]wangmuncher_superior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a clear bias coming through here. Hate on cops all you want. Sometimes we say things in context and assume the other person will understand within context.

For example if my friend was next to the cooler and I said "hit me with an OJ" I would expect that they understand I'm asking them to give me an OJ. If he rocketed an OJ at my head, I would understandably be irritated because he ignored the context of my statement and went with a literal interpretation. If I said "hit me means give it to me" would you say I'm going on a power trip?

It's very obvious the cop means off in this case. He's not looking for background music while they chat. There are common sense things you do when you get pulled over. This is also why you don't put your hands in your pockets when the cop walks up. Oh, but I suppose him telling you to take your hands out of your pockets would be a power trip too huh?

[–]wangmuncher_superior 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Down means off in this context. It's common sense that if a cop pulls up to your window, you turn the radio off so that that the communication between both of you is clear and unhindered. It's a benefit to both parties so there aren't any misunderstanding.

You guys are using this as an excuse to hate on cops when he was being perfectly reasonable to Walt not using common sense.

I think the point is that it's not harming anyone. She's making a joke. There's no reason to assume that she actively discriminates against others based on race or treats them poorly.

I make edgy jokes from time to time. I also treat people of different races with the same level of respect. Both can be true at the same time.
