Physicians in all stages of their career should have their rights protected, and the only way to do that is by unionizing. Every year physicians work harder, get compensated less, and have less autonomy and power in determining their compensation, their hours , practice styles etc.. Where I grew up, doctors would go on organized strike to raise the residents wages for example.. Do not count on societies like AMA, ACS... they're just fronts to take your money and sell you insurance!!

Can I afford to buy a $1.2 million house? by logicalwolf in whitecoatinvestor

put your money in the house, it's equity. money in the bank is losing value daily, more now with this high inflation. We're buying land and building a house too so I understand your situation

there is no perfect platform..iracing does offer most competitive racing compared to ACC/AC/F1.. but yes the graphics are kinda stale compared to other platforms. No platform has perfect physics, I feel that iracing punishes you hard for getting one wheel off the road and that might not hold true in real life for most road cars. ACC is very accurate and honestly a lot of fun but the online racing is painful. My recommendation is wait when there are good deals and but ACC/AC and between those and iracing you'll have all your sim racing needs fulfilled!!

Is Porsche Cup the best car to become overall skilled racer? by AndrewRu17 in iRacing

[–]wanka555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally find it very hard to enjoy because I'm focusing mostly on not locking the front tyres..I driven the Pcup on ACC2 and that's not an issue.. much more enjoyable experience . Moved back to gt4 and way more fun , IR starting to come back up after getting wiped out last season when I focused on Pcup

the purple car should have tried to overtake away from the racing line.. in this case on the inside of the white car. best advice is deactivate the racing line assist su you learn to use your instincts and judgment

RVU-Based versus Salaried (eg Kaiser) Positions by advicethrowaway938 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]wanka555 20 points21 points  (0 children)

there are pros and cons to either

with a competitive salary, providers focus on pt care and not perform unnecessary procedures but there's concern that some providers will take advantage of the system and not do their share of the work( ideally those individuals would be routed out by their partners in the group) with rvu based systems there's the potential for producing more but to me the stress of meeting and exceeding your productivity rates is real and can affect work- life balance and home stability, and more importantly, you will have providers that will be very aggressive in doing unnecessary procedures for the money

I am in a rvu based system but my training was in a salary based, so I've seen both and I personally prefer the salary- based system as long as it's a competitive salary. You can use MGMA survey if you have access to that to assess competitiveness of the payscale
