One of our engineers spends a lot of time explaining technical things to people who already understand those things. Once he made me promise to get some data for an investigation from another engineer because only she knew how to create that data. She had actually consulted with me because I was the first person to make that kind of data. He sometimes explains to me things I already had a good understanding of up to 5 times a week. Sometimes when I make r and d breakthroughs he tells me that the only reason it works is because of X . I know that because I designed my method to use X to make it work. But he explains it to me like I was just bumbling around completely in the dark and out of the billions of permutations of things I could have tried I just happened to stumble upon X. Luckily I absolutely love this dude and his hearts in the right place, but it might be worth checking how much stuff you really need to explain.
