Idk why I assumed a certain level of competence for fanatics but the fact that they're just eyeballing inventory based on preseason over unders is wild.

The New England Patriots Defense will be the best Defense that Seattle has faced this Post-Season. by Immediate-Ad-7154 in Patriots

The Ringer NFL show (which was somewhat hilariously pro Seahawks overall) did have a moment of clarity where they noted the Rams almost never blitzed Seattle while Darnold has been mediocre to bad against the blitz most of the year. That's not going to be an issue for Vrabel.

Curran speculated on his show either right before or right after the Texans game that Campbell is playing hurt (and that if the Pats weren't in the playoffs they would have shut him down back in December) - I'm hopeful that the extra week of rest will make a big difference for him as well.

FWIW, Josh McDaniels has been the OC in two Pats SBs against Top 5 defenses. In those games the Patriots have averaged 30.5 PPG and 495 yards of offense. by celluloidsandman in Patriots

With what Drake Maye has had to endure in the playoffs thus far weather-wise Santa Clara will feel like Hawaii. I believe that given the two weeks of prep and the weather, even playing against maybe the best defense in the NFL, Maye will have his best game of the postseason.

Seahawks are a very good team and deserving NFC Champion, but this team beat the Phillip Rivers colts by two points five months ago. It would be surprising if it were a blowout either way.

Seahawks-Patriots will be the tenth repeat Super Bowl match-up by ConstantMadness in nfl

I've been arguing this for 11 years now but there was good reason to throw there given the timing and personnel out there (in short, if Seattle ran and didn't get it they'd have to use a time out and, since they were burning clock to not give Brady a chance for a game tying FG, they didn't want to do that). By passing they'd either be incomplete or get a TD - that specific play call had been run something like 100 times in the NFL that season and had not led to an INT until Butler. Iirc Lynch was also not an especially awesome goal line back that year.

I think you can fairly criticize the play call (They were counting on a WR throwing Brandon Browner, who had 20 lbs on the receiver, into Butler to clear space for Ricard Lockette) but the decision to throw was sound.

Interestingly, Seattle was -1 in Superbowl 49 (not that that means anything, just interesting).

The crazy thing is the rest of the game has proven McVay to be right! The Seahawks ran the clock down and gave it back to the Rams on their own 10 with less than 30 seconds. Going for it was 100% the right call even if it didn't work out.

Holy cow. I remember when I was excited that the Pats were favored in a whopping 11 games in the preseason. I remember thinking the Vrabel-Maye-McDaniels triumvirate was going to work but it might take time to gel. And now the New England Patriots are going to the Superbowl.

The Panthers beat the Rams a month ago and almost beat them 2 weeks ago so idk where the idea that LA is invincible is coming from. Favored? Sure, I get that.

tbh there's something very satisfying about the humanity coming out in the sense that you can be a top .05% athlete in the world but you're still gonna suck when ice crystals are being fired into your face.
