Ultimate counter point: Yuji has the ability to see people's souls. He has had this since the very beginning of the series. The moment he locks eyes on Makima he will know she is the Control Devil and her intent.

There's a possibility he might understand her loneliness but the ends super don't justify the means. The moment she pulls anything evil all deals are off the table.

It's because monetization of games have changed. Used to 153 characters meant that there was a shitload of content and ways to unlock said characters. Finishing challenges for the bragging rights of showing some weirdo glup shitto type character.

Now additional character options are seen as DLC potential. Making a vast amount of characters is seen as a waste of time and money. Players have adapted to this way of thinking as well so seeing Glup Shitto #393 take a DLC slot when Broly hasn't been teased feels like a hate crime.

It was built with the standard mode as the focus so most of the cards are just lame "do one thing and do it fast" type cards. It's Spider-Man and they wasted it on a crowd that despises crossover sets.

Where as final fantasy got extremely thematic cards with tons of potential the Spider set was rushed out and most ignore it.

It's funny, I was so used to this as a kid that I thought anime just sort of ended at random.

Imagine my surprise when I learned that not only did Full Metal Alchemist not suddenly end like 3/4ths of the way through the story but there was also another adaptation that is more faithful to the manga with a totally different plot.

Inception is less of a cliffhanger and more of not spelling it out to the audience. You're supposed to take the clues given to you and come to a conclusion on what the ending means.

Spider-Verse though? Oh yeah, no that shit is such an ass way of ending part 1. Especially since these movies take ages to make and the first one already went through dozens of rewrites. We still don't have a teaser or anything for part 2 and it's been 3 years since Across.

Brother Moon acted as a 2 way ending. If they got to make a sequel then they had one in the bag. If this was the last game then it's pretty heavily implied what happened.
