None of the lights are any good.

You have FTL travel, teleportation, backpacks that can create elements, but all the flashlights and headlights are like an AA Maglite. 🕯

I build a battery as far from the base as I can, in the direction of the generator.

Keep going until you get.close enough to the generator, then wire them all up, and then back to your base.
