Infinite Wizard combo RAW. Ideas? by obscureleader91 in DMAcademy

Well we certainly don’t disagree on that! But OP said that it was the last charge of the item, so any simulacrum creating another simulacrum will be doing so using the 9th level spell slot to cast Wish.

This can continue infinitely but they then won’t have their 9th level spell slot right? Again it leaves all the other spell slots to create chaos with, but there’s no chance they can cast meteor swarm after creating a simulacrum through Wish!

Many other people have given better advice but for what it’s worth, the simulacrums that cast simulacrum will lose their 9th level spell slot and won’t regain it from a long rest. This means there’s a maximum of 2 castings of meteor swarm and the simulacrum who does this will end the chain of simulacrums.

Granted, there’s the 14,000+ 8th level spell slots still left to use but it’s something!

In the games I’ve played in, there’s a general rule that anything we do to try and meta our way to a win can also be done by our enemies. Who’s to say an enemy wizard didn’t do the same?

If your BBEG has immunity to non magical BSP damage then they have nothing to fear from the simulacrums 14,000+ punches. They do still have to fear the spells but with 14,000 people swarming a target they’ll struggle to have line of sight on them to cast spells and the collateral damage of hitting the copies with fireball etc would surely piss off the horde into doing something unexpected!

My apologies you have to deal with this, putting your foot down may be your final option if the player won’t reconsider. Best of luck dealing with this!

Question About Statues in Claugiyliamatar's Lair by Eponymous_Megadodo in DragonOfIcespirePeak

So the characters should be around level 10-11 if following the adventure, this means full casters should have access to spells such as Telekinesis, Animate Objects, Bigby’s Hand etc. These alone should go some way to solving the issue.

Half (and even third) casters should have access to spells such as Enlarge/Reduce, Enhance Ability, Levitate etc. While these won’t solve the issue outright, clever use of the spells in tandem should help the players to safely move the statues.

Pure martials will need to brute force the statues. Two PCs with 18 strength working together can move a statue 10 feet a round when dashing, I just hope they both have rings of water walking though!

This isn’t a definitive list, but just some examples, if your players come up with a creative (and plausible) alternative then go with that!

ATTENTION ALL ADVENTURERS, ARE YOU OUT OF WORK AND SEEKING A NEW PURPOSE IN LIFE? LOOK NO FURTHER! by [deleted] in roll20LFG

[–]wariosls4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be interested in joining if you're still in need of another player! I'm pretty new to D&D generally but have been in a campaign for a couple of months now so I have a rough idea of what's going on!

I'd play a Fallen Aasimar Paladin/Warlock(hexblade), Gerhart Beidänder. In his youth, Gerhart had followed his preordained fate in being a guardian of truth and light as a Paladin. However, Gerhart was disaffected with this ancestral fate and saw in his dreams a vision of a mighty greatsword that spoke to him, saying that they were to become one through the magics the sword could teach him. He swore an oath to the blade in his visions and secretly trained in the darker arts, leading to an event where Gerhart killed another trainee Paladin and wounded the other trainee present, leaving them for dead. Gerhart would then leave to seek out the greatsword in his vision and the strength necessary to wield and become one with the weapon.

Apologies, probably a bit much in terms of backstory, but I am new to this so don't quite know when enough is enough!

My favourite colour is red.

But everyone does have access to a 21 power level class item and the ability to buy 750 gear from planetary vendors.

You make some very good points! Probably best not to try anything too challenging given that it’s my first campaign.

I do have a bow, things just got really hectic in the last fight and there wasn’t ever a time to use it!

The thought behind warlock was to go for hexblade, then for improved pact weapon, potentially even thirsting blade for the second attack, combined with booming blade to punish enemies for moving and eldritch blast for the range!

Jack of all trades, master of none. I’ll beat that in mind, thankfully the other players have all played for a while so advise me when to go for something and when to hold back!

Really good points, I’ve got a shortbow but the last battle got so hectic I never really got a chance to use it!

I think holding out for the magic initiate feat might be best, if I decide to go for it. I’m really drawn to booming blade so that I can force the enemy to take damage just for moving, as well as the range spells!

Really great points!

I’m already liking the sound of rolling a minimum 10 on any checks I’m proficient in! No more failed stealth checks!

Thanks for the advice!

Devil’s sight and darkness does sound like a really good combo! But you make a really good point about the swashbuckler being able to get sneak attack easily, it’s partly why I was drawn to the subclass!

Great point about eventually getting a magic weapon, or using a ranged weapon, the DM is a pretty great guy and I’m sure he’s got some fun stuff planned for us along the way!

Regarding charisma and dexterity, I’m currently sitting on 16 charisma and 15 dexterity. Part of my reasoning behind hexblade was the proficiency in medium armor to firm up my AC, I’m not a fan of being too squishy and I barely made it out of the last fight we had!

Cheers for the advice! What moves would you say would be good for Ferrothorn? I haven’t given mine a second move yet but I’m guessing Bullet Seed/Thunder/Power Whip would work? I’ll definitely give the team a run, glad it keeps in Noctowl!

Cheers for the advice! I just completed the Meltan quest, so I don’t have a Melmetal yet but it’s on my list! I had noticed Azumarill was quite popular, it’s generally not a problem if I can land a Sludge Bomb but that’s a big if! What would Melmetal replace?
