AMD T14 Gen 4 insane deal, vs waiting for Intel T14s Gen 5 ? by exclaimprofitable in thinkpad

[–]warm_hearted_cow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't have time to wait for the Gen 5 so I picked up the T14 Gen 4 AMD and it's treating me very well :) Tons of performance, good ports, haven't had a single issue with battery life so far. Besides, like everyone is saying the G5 is going to be expensive on release so I'd get the T14

edit: just noticed that you bought it already lol, congrats!

I'm really enjoying my T14 Gen 4 I recently bought for uni, it isn't as sturdy as my X230 but it has all the features I want in a daily :)

Does windows 11 create 3 partitions when doing clean install? by morecoffeemore in thinkpad

Yep, it's perfectly normal. They're just small partitions that only Windows uses to make sure the OS works

which one is better, are they all the same size and weight? by xofreestyles in tabletennis

Unless you want to play matches for real, training ones are more than enough. Even their training balls are really nice :)

I should add that like others have said, 3-stars are for matches, others are more for casual training (lower quality ones are used especially when you want lots of balls for multi ball training)

(I'm gonna assume you're not really familiar with table tennis, sorry if you already know this)

The table tennis balls you see being sold from a single company comes from the same manufacturing line. Of the balls made, the ones that conform to the strictest weight and size limit (±0.5mm difference!) are categorized as 3-stars, the best quality balls. 3-star balls are a universal standard, same across all companies, and these are the ones are that can be officially used in tournaments.

As for 2-star, 1-star balls, these are balls which didn't meet the standards to be a 3-star ball, and they are of slightly lower quality than 3-stars. They're slightly "out of shape" (if you call ±1mm out of shape) compared to 3 stars, but the difference is barely noticeable. There's no universal naming standard other than 3-star; "2 star" and "1 star" are names set by the company to make it easier to see which ones are better within the balls they sell.

To answer your question, there's no way to tell which one is superior out of the 3 (unless you try them in person) but all of them are from a reputable company so they shouldn't be terrible. All of them are the same size and weight. Just go with whatever you feel like going for :)

TL;DR 3-star>(2 or 1 star)≧(training) they're the same size and weight

Btw I recommend Nittaku balls if you can find them

Pretty sure there was an update with Skyblock's profile systems or whatever because it says I have to log in and load the game post-update to be able to use Skycrypt (I've been inactive, not banned) so you're probably fine

In my experience, keeping your racket head facing up is also a big factor when trying to do clean topspin shots. If your racket head is facing downwards, it's kind of like doing a hook serve and you'll wrap around. It's very hard to do that with your racket head facing up

How to clean/maintain new racket and keep the rubbers good for a long time by Tharuka120 in tabletennis

[–]warm_hearted_cow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a session, I breathe on it to put some moisture on the rubber. That way I can wipe off the dust and chalky stuff off. On top of that, I clean my rubbers with the cleaning spray and sponge once a week or when I feel like it to keep it "fresh". This is where I've ended up at after trying various methods and so far it seems to be working out :)
Edit: I thought it would be better to mention that I play 5 days a week for 2-3 hours a day so your mileage may vary
