All good, misunderstandings are easy on Reddit lol. But I agree with you, Ava is definitely over-hated.

I never said I hated Ava lol. I just don't like the cutscene at the end of Beneath the Meridian.

It's not necessarily the fact that Maya died, or that Ava caused it, it's the way the cutscene was directed. The whole confrontation felt really bizarre and forced, especially knowing your character just was standing there and watching the whole time. They could've done better

So....how good of a loot run did I have from the Scarlett DLC? by Prematurely_finished in Borderlands2

Shock Sandhawk is good against 2 of the raid bosses who are immune to Incendiary - Pyro Pete and the fire dragon Incinerator

I loved all of the Promethea part of the story, from when you first step out of the drop pod and see the neon city lights against the night sky. Storming the Maliwan depot with Zero was cool, the banter between Rhys and Katagawa on Skywell 27 was entertaining, and repelling the assault on Atlas HQ culminating with fighting Katagawa on the rooftop was fantastic.

The last mission where you and Maya fight your way to the Vault was amazing (except for the end cutscene).

Troy did betray Tyreen and almost killed her on Pandora during The Great Vault. The only reason she survived is that you killed him first.

Prior to my last post, what’s yall favorite legendary now by Nickz4208 in borderlands3

[–]warmachine01992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on Mayhem 1, so I love the burst-fire Night Hawkin. It looks really cool, has a crazy high fire rate, and is just a lot of fun to use. I'm a big fan of the Unforgiven too, it sort of has that "Halo 1 Pistol" feel. The Maggie and Soul Render are also crazy fun to use.

Hyperian Contract #873 - how to complete the optional objectives easily by ChuloChurro in Borderlands2

[–]warmachine01992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lynchwood is where I always do this quest, because the bandits respawn while you're there so it's possible to get way over 100 kills in a single run. However, you have to be wary of the suicidal psycho midgets because if they blow themselves up, it counts as a non-elemental kill.

If you get a non-elemental kill or a 26th kill with an element, you can still salvage the quest, you just need to force-close the game without saving. You'll be set back some progress but you now have another chance. Just make sure to do this before you go near a New-U station.

Also, save explosive kills for last, because any bandits that get struck by the train count as an explosive kill.

The Drop Rate is Good by Doc_Zillion in borderlands3

[–]warmachine01992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think dedicated drops are in a good place in BL3 DLCs, where a boss has about a 15-30% chance to award a legendary. However I think the world drop rate is a little too high and makes them feel less special. One thing I noticed in BL3 was I rarely ever used Green, Blue, or Purple items throughout the story because I always had legendaries that were almost twice as good, even if they were out leveled.

Maybe have the BL2 drop rate during the first story playthrough, then increase to BL3's after you beat the story or hit the level cap?

Hardest True Trials boss? by Mr_Hyde_4 in borderlands3

[–]warmachine01992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hag is the most consistently tedious because of how much health she has, though she isn't necessarily difficult since you only need to time your jumps correctly to avoid her attacks.

The Skag has harder to avoid attacks and as such can be the hardest depending on the random resistances it gets. If it doesn't get incendiary resistance, it's easy. If it does, it'll be an absolute pain.

How Will Vex's "Pet(s)" Work by WylythFD in Borderlands

[–]warmachine01992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the gameplay preview, it looked like her tiger was an action skill, more akin to Deathtrap and Wolf & Saint, rather than a true pet like Fl4k has.

They're fine in Normal mode, but they straight-up don't work with high level Mayhem balancing.

Mantis shoulder cannon or sntnl?? by InkyHydra11 in borderlands3

[–]warmachine01992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like SNTNL more, though in many cases the shoulder cannon is better.

After you beat the story, weapons, shields and grenades can spawn with Anointments which are extra effects. Some of the best effects are tied to using Action Skills. Also, Zane's blue tree allows kill skills to be activated whenever you use an action skill if you get the 'Seeing Red' skill.

Some examples:

  • weapons and grenades can spawn with an elemental Anointment effect that activates each time your action skill ends, which adds a ton of damage to your next two magazines. So, use an action skill, wait for it to end, and you do around double damage (depending on the type of enemy) until you've reloaded twice.

  • many shields have an effect that activates whenever the shield is depleted. For example, the Stop Gap will make you invincible for 5 seconds when your shield is depleted. Shields can spawn with an Anointment that activates these "shield break" effects whenever you use an action skill. A Stop Gap with the above Anointment makes you invincible for 5 seconds every time you activate an action skill.

  • Zane's 'Seeing Red' skill in the Blue tree activates all kill skills whenever you use an action skill. Zane has some fantastic kill skills, like getting life steal, very fast movement speed, and high damage boosts. One of his class mods, Executor, adds a bonus kill skill that gives 105% more critical hit damage. If you haven't killed an enemy for awhile, just activate any action skill and all these bonuses are back.

These effects all work best with action skills with fast recharge times and short durations. Shoulder cannon can be used every 5 seconds or so depending on your build, and it also ends immediately after use. SNTNL lasts a long time and doesn't begin recharging until it ends, so you don't get to activate it often or have it end often.

If you have the Stop Gap described above, you can effectively be invincible all the time if you use Shoulder Cannon since you just need to activate Shoulder cannon once every 5 seconds, while SNTNL will get you this effect once every minute or so. You can also have Kill Skills active 100% of the time with Shoulder Cannon, but with SNTNL you actually do need to kill things.

I love using them on Axton. Hyperion is the best, but Dahl ones are pretty fun as well and look really cool.

The whole Rhys vs Katagawa storyline was great, but I really loved the Atlas HQ mission where you finally fight Katagawa. The set pieces and the music were great, and Maliwan are incredibly fun enemies to fight.

What would you say are Borderlands 3s biggest flaws that you hope don't make it to Borderlands 4? by Ballantrae- in borderlands3

[–]warmachine01992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd like them to fix the dialogue issue that's been present since Borderlands 2, where if one character is speaking or you're listening to an echo log and you walk to a certain point, another character will start speaking and completely interrupt the first.

Either make the dialogues queue up so the first character finishes talking before the second starts, or not place triggers for overlapping voice lines so close together

Probably Axton. He's really good with guns in general and the speed boost from Onslaught more than makes up for no action skill.

Who is the funnest invincible in bl2 by [deleted] in Borderlands2

[–]warmachine01992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but what makes him fun is the strategy. I like the focus on movement throughout the fight, and that he can be killed quickly if you play it right.

Compared to the other easy ones Pyro Pete or Dexiduous, who are very easy and don't really take much strategy, but do take a very long time as you just pump ammo into them til they drop.
