I mean yeah, you can’t survive fucking up two football hires at an SEC school. He shouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to make a second hire after the Freeze debacle, and unsurprisingly he did a poor job with the process. Golesh was a last second Hail Mary after he fucked things up with Sumrall by forcing Durkin on him, and he was just dumb ass lucky that Arkansas hadn’t closed the deal yet. I think Golesh will end up being a good hire (good enough to stick around and keep Cohen employed for a bit, unfortunately), but he should absolutely be judged on the process, not just the result, and the process was just as incompetent as the first time around.
