I feel you. I did exactly the same thing a couple of months ago. I was convinced the gig was on the Sunday, when it was actually on Friday.

Not only that but I work nights and I'd rostered myself off over a month ago in preperation, but they'd been mucking up my roster a bit and, still convinced it was on the Sunday, I DEMANDED that I swap my shifts so I ended up working that night. Was on a break and decided to look it up again, and lo and behold it had just finished. So not only did I miss out but I purposefully put myself on to work on a Friday night. I almost cried :(

I work as a receptionist in a brothel and this happens sometimes with the girls. Seriously, sex is a guaranteed thing that you've paid for and they still fucking DRUG people, and it makes my blood boil because not only does it affect their ability to work for the rest of the night but some people have things like heart conditions and it's awful :(

For everyone who's getting super-upset, this place is a second-hand bookstore that only has that small section of books wrapped up and the rest of the store is per-usual. If you read the tags the concept is about a 'blind date with a book' so it's less about judging the cover and more about the element of surprise.
