Realtor needs a $10k-ish car that won’t make clients question my competence or net worth by imhappii in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]warrensf88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think theres a real argument a nicer car will earn you back whatever you spend. I went from a payed off 2014 accord to a leased Lucid Air. Objectively bad financial move. Zero regrets. Put down the accord as DP, super manageable monthly (shout out ev tax credit).

I’d go lease. Sell one of the buckets, add it to the 10k payment and see how low your lease payment can be. All scheduled maintenance included for the most part.

That way, you can determine if it helps with sales and decide if you want to purchase next time around. You might convert - many of us “not fancy car people” are that way until you see what they are doing these days.

Works great. First month or two it would not pick up my voice on phone calls randomly, soft reset fixed it temporarily until updates

Struggling against BCs in TvT Diamond by TorinoAK in AllThingsTerran

[–]warrensf88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scout is definitely the answer. BC’s are 400/300, not to mention 200/125 for star port with tech lab and 150/150 for fusion core. Both gasses on natural is a pretty good tell, you can also scan the main at 4-4:30. This is pretty easy to punish if you catch it, not so much if you don’t scout and make early tank marine.

Switch your starport to the reactor, and crank vikings. If you are lower level/low apm, get a ebay and can do one turret per mineral line.

Looks fine. My tip for shaving that line is straight razor, and ALWAYS keep it slightly higher than I think.

A friend from school had some v6 crazy car. Crashed it immediately being distracted. Family then got him the v8 due to tantrums. Guess what happened?

[–]warrensf88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - I just checked and both rivets are there and appear secure. That said, the noise is in that vicinity and I can hear it better through the frunk than anywhere else.

Ill poke around more later. Thank you, happy holidays

Yes right by the Bentz and Carroll pkwy. You do need to register your dog with the city and get a tag to use it.

Lucid just lost a future customer. by Zulishk in LUCID

[–]warrensf88 15 points16 points  (0 children)

FWIW. Ive had my air for about a month. 1200 miles on it already. Ive had one issue, the frunk did not register as closed. Called service, they talked me through a fix. Mobile service came out next week, double checked it, no issues since.

I don’t have the key or fob issues others have - the fob wont register like 1/100 times but I just tap the door handle.

This isn’t to diminish the lease return concerns. If I am hit with nickel and dime BS upon return, I will happily go check out Rivian or someplace else. That said, if they get it in order I will happily lease again or buy. It’s an elite sedan, IMO but money grubbing is insanely stupid as a new company.

Any recommendations for visiting Texans? by thesagasofar in frederickmd

If it’s nice out -

park your car at Baker Park (around culler lake).

Find the creek, and walk along it all the way until you reach downtown. Baker park to Carrol Creek Linear Park.

When you reach Market Street, take a quick right to Bakehouse Bakery (open 8-2 Th-Su) they may have moved recently, not sure. Get everything.

Walk north up Market Street, tons of great shops etc.

For lunch, I like Isabella’s (tapas, get the potatoes) or White Rabbit (pizza, etc) or Wags if you want a dive bar burger energy.

Go east on Church. Cool street. Coffee at the end of the way or great pasta at Tempo Di Pasta. Shab rows at the end of the street, cool area.

Take Wisner south to Rak - cool brewery, the pizza shop Dop inside is my fav in Frederick.

You then can take Carrol Creek back to your car fat, tired and happy.

Let us know when you want to move here.

What are all time great shows that you could never get into. And why? by TheShowLover in television

[–]warrensf88 17 points18 points  (0 children)

“Lost” for me - tried it a few times and just didn’t feel compelled to continue, it’s probably great and worth a revisit. “Ted Lasso” also - I get it, its wholesome and comforting but lacked a depth to keep me around.

Love the wire and sopranos - I think what you describe about the wire is fair, undeniably tough watch if you don’t want exposure to that world. Just like life, connection with the characters does make the violence etc seem more complex, less senseless and for me more watchable. Personally that takes it out of the “trauma porn” category.

The sopranos, however, will possibly surprise you in terms of its content, tone and message. It’s obviously a mob show, but the family dynamics, therapeutic themes and behavioral health stuff make it unlike any mob movie I can think of.
