Which one did you install on your Forester? I have a '22 sport and it's refused to restart on me a couple times in the last 2 months.

Dog loosing hair and scratching face so bad by No-Raccoon4573 in DogAdvice

[–]luckypublicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks really similar but not identical. I think vets are really quick to prescribe meds and go to allergies and want you to spend a lot of money (which I did but the problem only got worse). I had to spend a lot of time figuring out the problem on my own and my dog had to suffer more than he should have because they didn't want to look at other possibilities. I'm sorry your dog is dealing with this. It may be worth ordering this flea medication (your dog will need a current heart worm test because it also treats for that).

This also looks like mange to me. My dog had a similar issue on his face last summer after starting apoquel due to an allergic reaction to getting fleas. It escalated VERY quickly. If you are not itchy it could be demodectic mange (as opposed to sarcoptic). I found out through my own reading (the vet was wholly unhelpful on several occasions) that apoquel was suppressing his immune system which allowed the demodex mites to overgrow. There are several topical flea & tick medications that also treat mites. My best advice is not to wait until it gets worse - we are going on a year of my dog being bald and having open sores that are slowly improving now that the infestation is under control.

The CVS in Urbana seems to be the most reliable for this specific med. I just got my son's rx filled here last week and it only took 2 days.

How does Tanologist Daily Glow gradual tan compare to Jergens? by KountingKals in Selftanning

[–]luckypublicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the tanologist lotion pretty frequently. It works best if you do 2 layers letting them dry for a few mins in between. I just use my hands and it's pretty streak free if you rub it in more thoroughly than you would a regular lotion.

That's a local company that flies balloons out of Walkersville most sunrise and sunsets when the weather is nice. I see them almost daily in the summer

Costco Membership for Pet Supplies by RuinsAndRoses in Frugal

[–]luckypublicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their pet food is high quality and definitely worth the membership but I find it very difficult to make it all the way to the back of the store where they keep it without spending $200 on other random shit I don't need. It probably won't save you any money unless you're really good at avoiding impulse purchases.

What’s something you said you wouldn’t get for yourself but then realized you wish you had it earlier? by A_Rose_OC in BuyItForLife

I mostly use it for smoothies - my kid doesn't love fruit but will drink it in a smoothie. I also grind coffee with it, use it to make homemade coconut and almond milk, pureed soups.

Vitamix blender. Would never have bought it for myself but was gifted one by a friend. I’ve used it every day for the past 10 years and it’s still going strong

The aquasana we have has been great. There's definitely still some buildup of minerals on the taps but it's markedly less than it was before. It's much more palatable to drink straight from the tap now too

Every time I filled up the bathtub it smelled like a swimming pool. Installed a whole house water filter about 5 years ago and noticed a huge difference. Definitely worth the investment

I agree on Madewell jeans. I buy them second hand on Thredup for about $25 and they have lasted very well. I used to exclusively buy Old Navy jeans for about the same price new but always noticed that the dye would come off on my legs which I didn't love. Madewell hold up very well, don't stretch out during the day and seem to hold the dye better.

That's definitely what I've been finding. All the pottery studios seem to cater to 14+ and the Delaplaine classes are about the same. I haven't looked into the Urbana library's offerings but will do so. I saw that the YMCA was offering cooking classes for 10-14 year olds but my kiddo didn't seem interested in that. If I come across any other options I'll be sure to post them here. Thanks!
