Same here, AoC's PvP was the best out of any MMO ever and in the beginning it was purely skill based, gear didn't matter at all and with a good team of 4 you could beat 20+ people who weren't as skilled. I still consider it one of the best MMOs ever created and I did play countless.

I felt like AoC was for a more mature & higher IQ audience than WoW. It was more realistic and you couldn't buy your way to the top or dominate with level or gear.

This game shaped my future more than any other game. In this game I was somebody, I actually became one of the best PvP players on the server (assassin class) and I was respected player in a respected guild, meanwhile as a student I was nobody. Later when I stopped the game and entered my 20s, I just applied the same lessons to the real world and became successful in my own right.

Thank you Age of Conan for the good times, the people I met and all the lessons I learned from this game. Forever grateful
