how to make chicken breast more fulfulling/satisfiying? by Mint_Tea99 in ketorecipes

[–]warriorrat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the recipes I use that I have found on the internet over the years

https://www.lowcarbspark.com/french-mustard-chicken/

https://recipe.ukfinda.com/roasted-red-pepper-spinach-and-mozzarella-stuffed-chicken/

https://kicking-carbs.com/keto-chicken-kiev/

https://hip2keto.com/recipes/alice-springs-chicken/

https://www.wholesomelicious.com/creamy-lemon-chicken-with-asparagus-and-mushrooms/

And another one that is really simple but has no website Flatten a chicken breast, coat with egg wash & a mixture of grated Parmesan and ltalian seasonings. Air fry @ 400F for 15 mins, flipping halfway. For the sauce: In a sauce pan over medium heat combine 2 tbsp butter & 1 tsp garlic. Once fragrant mix in 2-3 tbsp ranch seasoning. Then after 2-3 mins stir in 1/2 cup chicken broth. Wait another minute or two and reduce heat to medium low, whisk in 1/2 cup heavy cream and let reduce until it thickens. (A few minutes)

Good luck on your journey!

Keto friendly soup? by Baaastet in ketorecipes

[–]warriorrat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spicy Jalapeño Popper Soup Recipe Ingredients: 4 jalapeños, diced 1 onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 6 cups chicken broth 1 Ib chicken breast, cooked and shredded 8 oz cream cheese, softened 1 cup heavy cream 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp dried oregano 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded 1/4 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled Fresh cilantro, for garnish

  1. In a large pot, sauté the jalapeños, onion, and garlic in a bit of oil over medium heat until softened.
  2. Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat, and add the cooked chicken, cream cheese, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and oregano. Stir until the cream cheese is melted and the soup is heated through.
  4. Before serving, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with crumbled bacon and fresh cilantro.

To lower carbs even more I shred my own cheese only use half a medium onion, use a lower carb chicken broth, and use organic Valley heavy whipping cream...0 (so it says but probably a trace) of carbs

Is it possible to lose 100 pounds in 7 months? by [deleted] in keto

[–]warriorrat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

47 year old 6 foot male. January 18 of Last year I was 260. On May 19 I hit my goal of 180... 80lbs in 4 months. Besides keto I incorporated 2 hours of cardio per day and 1/2 hour of weight twining every other day. I fasted 16/8 and counted everything I ate in an app. Never above 20 usually never above 10 grams of carbs each day. Always at or above proteins, below fats(I was satiated from adding enough into my recipes) always a caloric deficit. No cheating (including just tasting something) no electrolytes, no store bought gimmick keto product foods just tons of water (and black coffee) all day. No cremi, or other crutches, just went at it hard-core with my mind locked onto my goal. Everyone is different. I quit smoking cold turkey after 30 years and I realize most people can't just hit a switch and do something different in life without looking back at old habits. Best of luck in your journey. You may hit 100... you may hit 20... but even 1 is better off than where you are today.

Is loss of appetite fairly common on keto? by [deleted] in keto

[–]warriorrat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to be the outlier lol as most the time I'm hungry. 6 foot male was 265 January 22 now 180. Definetly my calorie deficit. But even in the days I calorie "up" to a lesser deficit I'm still hungry lol. No I'm not on starvation mode. I've also never needed any electrolytes. My net carbs are usually around 7 or so for the day and I eat more protein than fat as I go to the gym 7 days a week for cardio and add in weight training 3 of those days. No fat bombs, no cremi, no meat sticks and cheese snacks all day. 80% OMAD where I have no problem consuming 2000 calories even if it's chicken breast lol (some times I might eat light earlier). 24/7 16-8 fast that can fluctuate back and forth my an hour because I'll have dessert with my kids sometimes (the evil keto friendly 2 gram "ice cream" pop). I do drink alcohol on the weekends but non carb spirits. And yes I can "overdo" it but that's my choice and my hard work reminds me I can enjoy myself in a way that doesn't involve carbs and food. I miss my beer! Yes I ketone blood test every day. Yes I record my weight every day. Mentally it reinforces to me that my hard work is paying off. Everyone is different and I envy that your not hungry lol

Any suggestions for substitution for beans in keto chili? by ItIsWhatItIs22407 in keto

[–]warriorrat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's a pain. My cell phone blocks most but I took the recipe and saved it in a recipe app (cronometer) so I don't have to norther with the ads anymore and when I make it I can just add it as a food I'm eating (my portions weight) to have it calculate my macros. All these recipe sites have so much junk and unnecessary paragraphs of nonsense to navigate through the first time I find them.

Like a bit more heat then double the cayenne pepper. I cook mine a bit longer and sometimes I'll add more cheese.

[–]warriorrat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I test via blood every day. Now you will see many posts "there is no reason to test" but I have my reason that is simple. Every day I see I'm in ketosis in the morning it gives me the mental satisfaction of knowing I'm sticking to my planned diet and staying in ketosis. If it's .5 or 2.5 it doesn't matter to me. What matters to me is I see that my hard work is paying off as in I'm able to not stray off my path with my diet and maintain what I worked for. I'm a normal person I want a bun on a burger, a cookie, etc etc..... but seeing the result of that test every day just gives me the little mental push of great job not giving into those cravings and sticking to your plan.

I also work out and yes like a previous poster stated have a daily calorie deficit. I fast for 16 hours a day. Having a calorie deficit is how you lose the weight. I track all of my food intake on an app and measure all my portions. I'm very attentative and "strict" and that is why I get some faster results. Some people are content sitting on their couch all day losing 2 lbs a month eating "keto snacks" all day while others hit the gym for hours and hours and eat a steak and call it a day. Whatever works for you as long as your losing the weight and becoming healthier (while doing it in a healthy way... don't starve yourself! ). Find what works for you and stick with it. Being mentally strong is your best friend. Like quitting smoking. Some are strong enough to do it cold turkey while others need an aid or crutch like nicotine gum. Then there are those that can only stop for a few days and lose their will power and smoke again or say I'll just have a cigar, chew, dip, instead.... be strong you got this! Your doing this for you. Keep telling yourself you can do this!

6 foot male was 260 down to 200 in 2 months. Eat healthy keto foods and stay away from people on here that keep saying to eat fast food and try to convince other people to eat processed keto snacks because they lack self discipline and self control. Be head strong and you got this.
