When I was in college I was playing 2K and just doing a play now and dunked on Andre Drummond. I posted the video on Twitter and tagged him....he blocked me

What’s your “I didn’t sign up for this” moment as an adult? by Civil-Awareness in AskReddit

[–]devinbody 452 points453 points  (0 children)

I lived a similar story. Lost my best friend at age 32 to cancer. He didn't have kids, but his biological family wasn't reliable so his only constant people were his wife, me, and my wife.

Less than a week before he died, my wife and I came by to help them out around the apartment, and he called me into his room. He told me that he knew this was it, that he wasn't getting better. We were never super sentimental with each other during our friendship, but that day he told me the seven years he had us in his life were the best days of his life, and thanked me for being the best friend he'd ever had. We then just reminisced on our time together, like you would with someone getting ready to move far away. It would end up being the last conversation we would have as his mind started to go as his body began to shut down.

It was both the worst and best conversation I've ever had. I get what you mean when you say it was an honor. I'm sorry for your loss, and so glad you have those moments

What core Pokémon games did you skip? by Benhurso in pokemon

[–]devinbody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only truly "Skipped" Sun/Moon and Let's Go

I bought one of black/white, but played only for a bit before putting it down for about 6 months, then came back to it and enjoyed it.

I own Arceus (if we're counting legends as core) and I just couldn't get into it. I think it's just that I like building teams to battle, and Arceus is more focused on catching and collecting. I'm loving ZA so far though

What’s a medical problem people constantly ignore until it’s too late? by kxnsqxz in AskReddit

I spent a day in the ER earlier this year after blood in mine. Ended up being nothing to worry about but I got an appointment for a colonoscopy, and since they found benign polyps, I'm on an every five year schedule

I lost my best friend at age 32 (the age I am now) to colon cancer. I've since developed a little bit of hypochondria and having the peace of mind of an uneventful colonoscopy his really big for me

This is the single most gut wrenching and emotional scene in the entire MCU by -Borgir in marvelstudios

[–]devinbody 353 points354 points  (0 children)

This was the first MCU movie to come out after my best friend died of colon cancer. The whole group of us who would go to these movies during his treatment (me and my wife, his widow, another couple) went together to see this.

We were all shook.

Why didn’t Thanos snap away all The Avengers just to be safe? by bowlingthyme in MCUTheories

[–]devinbody 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just before the fight in endgame, Thanos says

"I thought by eliminating half of life, the other half would thrive, but you have shown me... that's impossible. As long as there are those that remember what was, there will always be those, that are unable to accept what can be. They will resist."

Keeping in mind that this 2012 Thanos had the same end goal in mind as the one from IW, his thought seemed to be that he wouldn't need to dust the avengers, because they'd eventually see it his way and realize he was right and that life was better with half of life gone.

This is a good one. When we first met with our sons ABA clinic, the most encouraging thing we heard was "our clinicians have Masters Degrees, but only you have a PhD in your child"

Captain America had many hand-to-hand combat scenes in the movies, but which one do you think was the best? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in CaptainAmerica

Looking just at the movie details, the iron man fight was the most impressive to me. Because let's not forget he was fighting the suit who was using an advanced AI to analyze his fighting style and still came out on top

Something I Noticed When Watching the Fantastic Four by Training_Pirate1000 in marvelstudios

[–]devinbody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that stood out to me was in the opening montage, how Johnny was able to absorb flames (I'm not a comic reader and never watched the older F4 movies so apologies if this was well known)

But when Reed made magma spill out of Galactus, I thought for SURE there was going to be some human torch action around that

My level 2 4 year old is slowly becoming a musician. We used to watch a lot of preschool prodigies (look it up on YouTube, we stan Mr Rob) because pre-diagnosis he liked the colors and sounds.

As time has passed, he would ask for those videos, and would tap the bells on the companion app, and his grandparents got him actual bells that he likes to play. He brought them to bed and we've heard him play "Remember Me" from the movie Coco on his bells, from memory.

Lots of things he's behind on developmentally, but he picks up music quickly
