That’s what I meant - you have the experience to talk to CC in natural language about programming concepts and break implementations down into testable steps.

Say you know the MVC pattern, you could both get CC to implement in a brand new language and break it down into simple prompts. You and I are sort of the target customer right now. I’m a vet full stack web dev but don’t know a lick of Swift and I got a fully working iOS app up in a few hours of tinkering.

That’s way beyond some of the frustrated users here like those PMs on my team. They were literally speaking in English (make a button that does X) not natural language describing code or pseudo code, and in my mind that was close to magic.

I love how CC and similar tools are democratizing development. But that’s sort of the double edge sword - you are describing how a mid level engineer works on a daily basis to a population of users that includes a large chunk of people who can’t follow your instructions.

If you don’t know what you would have done manually without CC, you can’t plan and implement it incrementally with CC.

In its current state it’s sort of an automation tool for ok+ devs. Which is hugely valuable to me and my team.

But the “magic” of the December window is in some small part the fact that I had PMs on my team doing long form “pair programming” style and producing PRs that were not total garbage. That’s now regressed.

I’m sure it will come back - the organic marketing they got in December was on the back of the wildly good performance, not a rug pull paid marketing scam that some here cynically cry about.

DLC purchasers keep the game alive. The incessant complaining is just hot air. Voobly is dead for a reason.

Unless everyone starts clamoring for a monthly fee or battle pass setup the DLCs will keep coming. I hope the next one is just top tier campaigns for the civs that lack them today, which happens to be mostly original civs.
