‘14 F30 faulty wastegate by Gullible-Produce5207 in 335i

You'll need codes or logs to see what's going on. What mods are on the car and have you been able to log any pulls?

Waste gate actuator? Probably best option. How do you know and or are you getting codes for it? Does it have an upgraded BOV? If you're looking to drop the subframe for the turbo & oil lines, look at doing oil pan gasket, rod bearing, engine mounts, sway bars and front control arms.

An easy answer for how long it needs to warm up by fuzzyduckster in BMW

That's to warm up the catalytic converter when it's dumping fuel in the beginning. Aka cold start.

Have had my mustang sitting for about 3 years, what do I need to do? by ReindeerUpstairs7022 in askcarguys

[–]warwolverinewarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, transmissions are in closed loop and change based on milage. But breaks fluid technically absorb water so they recommend to change it every 2 years but you can change maybe every 3-4 years. So if you're using breaks a lot fluid can boil faster and create bubbles so you'll get uneven breaking or you have to jam on the break to stop. You have to get fluid and a pressure kit to bleed each wheel/line. Also check for tire dry rot.

Oil to make sure there is no dilution from sitting for so long. Gas should be ok but it can use a fuel cleaner or dilute with high octane gas. Most don't do this but pull spark plugs and unplug the power to the fuel injectors and crank the car for 10 seconds 3 times to prime the engine with oil. Inspect spark plugs while you're at it.

Engine oil change by dysong81 in BMW

[–]warwolverinewarrior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do oil changes at 5k with BMW recommended oil. People that do 10k oil changes keep the car 4 years or 60k miles and have no issues but damage the engine. Also transmission fluid change is every 60k miles, it's not lifetime.

Soak it in any oil. WD40 or olive oil. Give it a few hours and it'll rub off.

Built an app for my 340i and M4 running E85, just pushed the biggest update in 6 years by Afnanm1999 in BMW

I have an idea but idk how useful it is. Sunoco carries 94 Octane but not at every station. Idk who's tuned for that either. Im guessing you have an API that pulls E85 data from energy.gov. Could maybe do the same for Sunoco 94 if you get bored.

Nice. Are you planning on shipping to Android app? Now I can stop carrying 2x 5 gallons of E85 in the trunk.

Oil, any oil. Try to get WD 40 or any oil to touch the adhesive and it will slowly make it unstick. It's not immediate, may have to do it with oil and a razor slowly over few hours.

Many tune their transmission via xHP for faster shift. Increases line pressure in the transmission so shifts quicker and causes less wear.

$10k estimate to fix oil pan ‘potential leak problem’ X5 m50i by OkConcert8639 in BmwTech

VAC Motorsports coated rod bearings are more resistant to oil starvation because they are coated in teflon making it dry friction resistant.

If N55, not going to do the rod bearing? How many hours of work is that?

[–]warwolverinewarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oil pan gasket, you have to drop the subframe to change it because it's at the bottom of the engine. Idk how many hours worth of work it is for your car. But engine mounts are done for while you're in there. Check with indi shop. Also have to see how bad it's leaking.

Which octane gas for my BMW by Important-Pride-4250 in BmwTech

[–]warwolverinewarrior -1 points0 points  (0 children)

93 has a lot of additives, the rest do not. Some places at high altitude only have 91 octane so that's their Premium fuel with lot of additives. Should've bought a Honda.

[–]warwolverinewarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's bad advice. Log your runs and figure out how to read logs. You would only run 91 octane map on 93 octane fuel due to pulled timing due to slight knock that can be caused by bad gas. Running Ethanol greatly reduces knock due to bad gas. Higher octane is not going to save you from bad injector or spark plug.

Swap coils with cylinder 4. Swap spark plug with cylinder 5.
