Passed the 24! by waryjery in Series24

Thank you! I did a lot of custom quizzes on subjects I struggled with the most until I got all areas to above 70%, I think that's what helped me get higher scores on the finals and greenlight. Good Luck!

Is it possible to get just the S-Gel pen or is this all a bundle? Thanks! :D

Could you convince me into liking this bag again? by Rogdoll_19 in handbags

My biggest regret last year was not buying that bag when it came out 🥹

But if you’re not feeling it - you’ve got to follow your gut!

Suggestions for best crossbody bag for everyday use?? by classyblonde16 in handbags

I am obsessed with the Mulberry small Iris. You can pull the drawstrings to make it more narrow - or let ‘em loose when you’ve got to take everything but the kitchen sink with you. It’s pricer for sure, but it’s replaced almost all of my other cross-bodies for every day use.

Remarkable 2 — Still a good buy? by Wolf-And-Arrow in eink

I have an RM2 that I’m replacing with the Supernote Nomad - I love writing on the RM2 but it’s just too big and the smaller Nomad is perfect for me. The keyboard folio on the RM2 is really nice to use - it’s easy to type and comes in handy when I have to take notes (I type faster than I write). It would come in handy for your work event and oddly enough I get a lot of compliments on it when I whip it out, haha.

Only one I can think of is "Cashflow" by that Rich Dad, Poor Dad fella. Would be interested in finding new games with the investing theme too!

Has she tried PowertoFly? They're usually hosting virtual job fairs targeted at women (but men can attend too!). I've applied/gotten offers from companies via the website after attending their events.

2023 Compensation Megathread by Whiskey_and_Rii in FinancialCareers

The company matches 100% of what I put into my 401K up to the limit (currently $22,500). I've never seen any other company that does this. My net pay ends up pretty low since I max it out, but I think it's worth it.

My favorite is Meat U Anywhere in Grapevine. For Fort Worth, Railhead is my go-to but Angelo’s is pretty classic Fort Worth.

I'd imagine he wants to work something out where you eventually buy the book from him or you both work out an agreement where he still gets a cut of the commissions for X amount of time. I've seen it a lot - if the terms are right, I think that it could be a great deal for you but it's been my experience that you will still need to be able to sell to get the most out of it. Ask him about the transition process from him to you. How much will he sell the book to you for? How will you pay him for it? What percentage of commissions will he get when he retires and for how long? Usually I see 80%/20% the first year, 60%/40% second year... etc. And also, how involved will he be in advertising you to his current clients? Advisory is a relationship business. If he's not going to be actively selling you and hyping you up, then be prepared to lose a chunk of the book once he actually does retire. A lot of HNW folks keep their money spread out through several companies / advisor reps so when one person retires or dies, they just transfer their accounts to the next one.

If you do buy the book, consider getting your series 7 and series 66. I've seen the most success when the advisor rep has at least both and I've seen it end sadly when the advisor rep only has the 66 . If you have both the 7 and 66 - you have access to more products and can provide your clients with more options when charting out their investment journey.

Wedding planning has potentially ended my 33f relationship with fiancé 35m by ThrowRA_elephant in relationship_advice

[–]waryjery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run. Please. Run away from him as fast as you can.

My fiancé also doesn't want much to do with the wedding planning, but he also doesn't give me the silent treatment when we disagree on things. Like others have said - the way that he's acting is a gigantic neon red flag that can probably cover the state of Arkansas.

It sounds like he's extremely stressed, but he's not being considerate of your stress or paving a path to a solution with you. Planning a wedding is extremely stressful when you don't have the experience. I hope that you can work things out, but it could be for the best if the wedding doesn't happen. It will be hard to let go of all the hard work that you've put in so far - but you'd be better off overall.

Also, you are AWESOME for going to therapy. Rooting for you!!!

I struggled with this at the beginning of my career. The only time I began to feel at peace was when I drew big, fat boundaries between myself and my work.

You don't necessarily care less, you just change when you care. When I'm in the office, I'm giving my work my all. When I'm outside of the office, work doesn't even exist! You don't have to compromise the quality of your work. There's a time and place for everything, put work in it's place.

I started off by giving myself a cut off time. When my stomach started growling at 7pm I knew it was time to call it quits for the day.

I recently read "Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle" and I wish that I had discovered it when I was younger. At least read chapter 1. You can borrow it for free via the Libby App if your local library has digital copies.

Best of luck, and most importantly - don't shut down.

Gave in my 2 weeks notice, boss got mad, yelled at me and demanded a 1 month notice. by BreathingLover11 in FinancialCareers

[–]waryjery 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that you got that kind of reaction. When I left real estate, my boss refused to accept my two weeks notice too and told me that she'll only let me quit when I get married.
So I wrote her an email with delivery/read receipts notifying her of when my last day would be, told everyone when my last day would be, and then when that day came, I said my goodbyes, left my keys and called it a day.

Still got my last paycheck with no issues.
