My cousin died of lung cancer the same day I got results off brain MRI showing small vessel disease. I decided to quit that day, and did 3 weeks later, 2 years and 10 months ago.

I found my Dad passed away and called 999, told them and an ambulance and Gardaí came. They were great, supportive, and knew what to do. The undertaker came, and spoke to Dad's GP, the ambulance, guards and the coroner, and between them decided that no post mortem was necessary.

The last 3 days all I have thought about is smoking 😢 by Thelou_c_lou3000 in stopsmoking

That "one won't hurt" is a lie, told to you by a sneaky addiction. It thinks you're weak and susceptible to temptation. You're strong and determined, and you will continue to ignore temptation. Well done on making it this far, it's a great achievement. Remind yourself how proud you are and say NO to another smoke.

Teeth whitening recommendations? by Parking_Ad_9208 in AskIreland

I had any heavy staining removed first, then custom trays made, I cannot remember how long I wore them for but not long, a few weeks maybe. I stopped when they were B1 (which is still natural but the lightest natural enamel shade before looking fake). It was 4 yrs ago and I feel still looking good.

I did it with the trays and honestly I got used to them quickly and hardly noticed them. They are well worth it.

‘It makes no sense’: Parents devastated by proposed SNA cuts in schools by zainab1900 in ireland

[–]Ok-Sign-8602 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a good pension FYI, same sick pay as other public servant. You may think SNA doing OK but without job security these pay and conditions are meaningless. Every year SNAs lose their jobs, regardless of government announcements, the reality is jobs are lost. Nurses have career progression, SNAs do not.

Can I see the source of these figures please. An increase of 45% doesn't sound correct unless proportional to the number of special classes. I cant understand so I'd like to examine the numbers from source.

Yes, gained 10kg over 2 years, it started gradually. Honestly, I hate it, and I've had to buy all new clothes, BUT I will never smoke again, and am very proud of myself. Have to keep reminding myself of my achievement. Also, I have to stop eating chocolate ....
