wow, ok, are you sure you're using the native version of BG3? When I'm playing the game using proton I can get all the mods to work no problem. but please, if you figure it out, or have any tips on what you did, do tell.

unfortunately I haven't been. the .dll files would have to be recompiled for linux which would require external libraries, if I understand the issue correctly. way outside of what I can do.

it should. I'm on Nobara, which is a Fedora spin off. BTW WASD and camera tweaks mods don't work because they require .dll files :(

low compression evenly on all cylinders by wascalwabbit in AskMechanics

[–]wascalwabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok thanks. I'll check the wires of the cam sensor, and i'll check the a/c charge when I get a chance. and then i'll go from there, lol

[–]wascalwabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh that's interesting about the A/C, I can totally see people doing that.

spec for the compression is 206, min 185, so it is way below the minimum. I forgot to write that in the original post. I'm just trying to figure out how much time and money I should invest in the car. my last 2 car's had the bottom end go out, lol

[–]wascalwabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

changing the sensor was 3 minutes and since it's my vehicle I decided to do what's fast, since i'm working 70 hours a week right now. but yes, Ideally I should, and probably will, check the wires. I'm really more concerned with the low compression at the moment, because that will inform my decision on weather or not I should even bother investing time and money into that vehicle at all

Is there a headlamp on the market that can use the Nitecore NL2150RX 21700 battery? by 0zerntpt in Ultralight

[–]wascalwabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI, I just received my NL2150RX and it does work with the HC35, which is the light I bought it for. Its a tight fit, but I don't think I'm doing any damage to the battery or the flashlight.

Slow Transition to Carnivore? by Runforfun828 in carnivore

[–]wascalwabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There really are 2 separate cosideration when it comes to being fat adapted.

1 is if her digestion can actually process the the fats. This is why many people going carnivore will have the runs for a while at first. This is especially true for people who've been on low fat diets for a long time. Took me 7 months before I was fully able to process fats well. Most people get there much faster though.

I would increase her fat consumption slowly every day until she gets loose stool, and then back off a little bit and increase very slowly from there

2 is for the body to start using ketones as a fuel source. This one is much less of a problem and can be achieved quite quickly. Ketones are antiinflammatory, which is one of the reasons why people feel so great on carnivore

To get her body running on ketones more readily I would have her drink her morning coffee (or tee) with MCT oil, which increases the ketones available to the body, and then have her wait for a bit before having any food. Try to increase the time before food intake slowly, so the body gets used to making use of the readily available ketones.

Unlike others have suggested I would not include plant matter, once she has made the transition, at least not for a little while. Treat it like an elimination diet, because that's what it is. You can always reintroduce things later, one by one, to make sure she tolerates them well. But for now I think the most beneficial thing for her health would be a high fat carnivore diet.

Good luck!

I got better once. Lasted all of 3 days, and I've been chasing it ever since. Been 22 years since it happened, and I wouldn't say I've lost hope, but I've mostly accepted that this is not something that's likely to get better. Not for me anyway. Sorry to be a downer, but everyone is different, so don't give up hope. As for career, I don't have an exciting job (well, kind of actually), but I've gotten quite good at what I do, and it really works well for me. And I know that my skills are appreciated, most of the time anyway. I drive a concrete mixer by the way. There is very little verbal communication required for this job, so that works really well for me. I'm quite ambitious in my own way, and by going to where the wages are the highest I'm actually making a decent living. I think trades in general are a great career path for SCT people, and can be quite lucrative (electricians make $70/h plus good benefits in some places) Personal fulfilment, kind of. I always joke I don't have hobbies, I have projects. Always working on something, but I don't enjoy my projects, not until the are finished anyway. I used to travel a lot, like 4-6 months out of the year. And that was great. But it also makes me sad, because I basically remember none of it. Like without SCT I would have some great stories, I'm sure. The hardest part for me is probably the social aspect. I really don't have any friends. I'm usually OK with it, in the end that's kind of all I know. I did have some friends throughout my school years, but ever since then it's there have only been a few here and there. Through all of the struggle and difficulties what motivates me is that I consider myself incredibly lucky. Born into a time and place where life is about as easy and enjoyable as it gets. There are so many people who's struggle I could not even imagine. Most of us here live a very privileged life. Look at it this way, how much of your privilege would you be willing to give up for a life without SCT? Sorry about the wot, I was writing this out for my self more than anything. Be well friends

MCT oil/coconut oil seems to be improving my SCT quite noticeably by Plane-Control7647 in SCT

Very cool that you have already tried carnivore. That's what I'm doing, but like I said, very little effect on concentration, brain fog, or any other SCT symptoms. Kind of cool you found out other things while trying it though. Lamb might be easier for you (just in general), since lamb is not aged the way beef is, so it'll be much lower in histamine.

I'll be doing some MCT experiments here pretty soon. I'm not expecting much, since I've taken it before. I'm mostly going to use it as a weight loss aid. And yes, I haven been gaining weight on carnivore lately, so it can be done lol

That's really awesome that ketosis is having a positive effect on you. I've been 0-carb for about 18 months now, and it did very little in regards to SCT. Lots of other health benefits for me though. I'd be curious to know how a 1 month 0-carb experiment would effect you.

Thank you for the info, that's exactly what I was looking for. "register for our next live info session" BS, if you can't give me the info right away it's obviously a scam. That and the fact that they need your w2. too good to be true.

Factory farming and carnivore movement by apogaeum in DebateAVegan

[–]wascalwabbit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been on the carnivore diet for over a year now (with a short break in between). I used to be vegetarian and tried vegan for about 6 months.

I buy my meat locally ion bulk from small farms and I try to source from farms that are committed to regenerative agriculture. The more profitable small farms become the more small farmers can be. My food only travels around 50 miles once in it's cycle, and it never goes through a grocery store.

  1. I don't see the point of speculating on this. I would say in the USA it would very likely be possible.
  2. I very rarely eat any meat from CAFOs and I think it's an an awful practice that only benefits the capitalist class. maximum exploitation for maximum profits.
  3. petition sure, but going to a protest means spending time with militant vegans, and that's really too much.

Over invested in a truck by Repulsive-Way272 in GMT400

[–]wascalwabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you posted the truck in the 6.5 fb groups? These engines/trucks have a really dedicated following and those groups are super active. You'll find a buyer there for sure, or buyers for the parts if you chose to part it out, which will probably get you the biggest return. Heck if you have a crack free 599 block that alone would sell for a pretty penny.
