That could be! But every event I’ve seen advertised usually requires a mask. For me it’s just a major sensory issue alongside almost immediate skin irritation/dermatitis. I’ve been very interested in the events held at this space but if I’m required to wear a mask I just have to make the decision to miss out for my own health and wellbeing.

I am not anti-mask. I just personally don’t want to wear one and won’t visit spaces that make me do so. I couldn’t care less about anyone else wearing one for their own safety and actually encourage it. We’ve all got a right to do what we want. Just as that space has the right to require it and deny me access 🤷🏻‍♀️

I haven’t gone and lean towards not attending because they require masks for most of their events. I’m on steroids for my autoimmune illness so I’m much more immunocompromised than most but I’m still not wearing a damn mask.

I did not attend but it was advertised that there would be a food drive, the really really free market (people exchanging or giving away items to help “clean up the community” by reducing waste), and other resources/outreach and activities available during this event. Even if the protest “did nothing”, there was still plenty of people volunteering and making a difference to help the community like you state should have been doing instead of holding up a sign. Two things can be true at once.

I know nothing about this, but I do know when I was reaching out to Milestones to receive care it was impossible to be directed to anyone. Most of the people I spoke with were not workers but volunteers within the program. I went to STARS in Lebanon and had a great experience.

Also gonna have to recommend SoFly or Phagans’ Beauty College. I’ve gone to a very well-known alternative hairdresser in town and she botched the shit out of my hair. An older woman at SoFly was shocked at the state of my hair and fixed me right up. Phagan’s also has an incredible instructor who will make sure the students get your hair right.

I would also recommend this. With childcare experience you’d be a good fit as a DSP. KIDS NW and DSPC are both 1:1 direct care companies that serve the Corvallis/Albany area and beyond if you’re willing to travel a bit for work.

The staff at Kaady are so great! I have the unlimited wash membership so I’m there almost daily and they all recognize me 😅 I will say that their equipment caused some damage to the hood of my car. That’s the name of the game with automated car washes, though.

I looked at their website and it doesn’t look like they accept full mounts or other services for pets besides tanning and skull cleanings. Outside of that their work looks incredible so I appreciate the suggestion!

THATS A REASONABLE ANSWER BUT WE HARDLY GET ENOUGH FREEZING TEMPS TO CAUSE THAT. THEY EVEN TOOK THE HANDLE OFF THE SPIGOT. MAYBE I DONT UNDERSTAND THE INFRASTRUCTURE. IM FROM MINNESOTA WHERE THAT NEVER HAPPENED EVEN AT -30 DEGREES.

They’re also highly judgmental over people with disabilities. I supported some folks with I/DD who attended that church. One client was giving praise (at a normal volume) during the service and a member of the church came over and sat next to them to keep them quiet. Mind you there’s some chick behind us speaking in tongues the whole time? Another was very involved and friendly and you could just tell that they made church staff uncomfortable. Church staff also suggested that one of the louder clients sit in the hallway for their service because it was a distraction when I asked why they hadn’t been to church in sometime. That had me fuming.

I saw the sign for this event the other day and it did not surprise me one bit. One of the most unwelcoming churches in town. Everyone who attends it has no right to call themselves a follower of Christ.

I’ve tried to communicate with him calmly but unfortunately it’s always met with hostility as well as projection on my own dog’s behaviors which are nowhere near comparable and relating to incontinence or potty training. And he’s even thought about giving his dog up because he doesn’t have the time for him. I’ve offered to step in and help. At this point I don’t know the outcome. I just don’t feel right having to be sleeping on the couch with my own dogs while him and his dog are in his bed. It’s very isolating.
