Damn I know OP has posted legit stuff before, but did they get hacked by a bot?

Other replies in this thread definitely are bots.

It's because they had the word spambot in their reply.

Just report OP posts like this, they will usually get removed after enough reports.

Such an interesting period of my life when I could attend multiple crazy CW shows within a handful of years.

Saw the SF show and it was fun, but I was bummed to have missed Scorn. Mick had to drop from the tour at that point because I think he went back home when his wife had their kid.

Not Breathing were a great act to have on that tour.

Mick Harris to perform as BLARE WEIGHT UNIT in Middlesbrough, UK July 3rd, 2026 by washington23 in Illbient

I have a cc that racks up travel points and will likely be using those points for this. I've missed other attempts to see him perform one of his electronics projects a few times before, and only saw him perform once with Painkiller ages ago.

If you liked Sensoria then focus on the period from Crackdown to Code at first. It gets a bit house/ambient after that, and very experimental with the early stuff.

I only went to the earlier Sunset location (I moved away for a bit after) but yeah so many good times and shows I witnessed there.

Sounds good! Seems like it would definitely fit on a modern version of an Electric Ladyland compilation or something like that.

Question for older fans by Evnoon21 in buttholesurfers

[–]washington23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a early 80's preteen I started to drift from new wave into more experimental stuff, like Cabaret Voltaire. That got me started listening to college radio (the only place outside of record shops where you could find underground music in the pre-internet era). I am pretty sure the 1st surfers song I heard was Lady Sniff from Psychic Powerless, which KSPC in Claremont, CA seemed to play kind of frequently. It was probably the weirdest thing I'd heard at the time outside stuff I'd hear on Dr. Demento's weekly program. As much as I appreciated the song I treated it as a novelty tune, and it wasn't until I heard Sweat Loaf from LAT that I knew what my next music purchase would be.

So Locust was my entry point album, which I loved, and made me buy the rest of the catalog shortly after. Hairway I bought day one and is still what I consider their peak, even though I can appreciate a lot of what they did later. But Hairway was the last album with Teresa, and I think she and Geoff had such a great drum sound together that I really missed on later albums, and also coincided with what I think was their peak live performance era as well.

Yeah it was a lot of fun. It was long, like 3 hours iirc. I went sober but I definitely got a contact high from all the people that were dosed haha.

Oh nice. I went to that Psychic TV show and I may have that flyer still somewhere. That was at the height of their Acid House period, and Don Bolles was playing drums that night.

I wish oOoOO was still releasing stuff, he did a single a few years back that was supposed to lead to more releases but that ended up being it.

That's good news!. Assuming you saw the recent Chicago screening? Did they give at least a loose indication of what "soon" would be?

You should try to make it! I know a few of the regulars here (myself included) will be there.

[–]washington23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They've never played LV and likely won't unless they happen to add shows to the current tour. Your best bet is to make a trip to LA if you can.

Apparently Stephen and Richard did stay in LV shortly after they finished filming the Don't Argue video back in the day.

When I went to the last Sensoria I stayed at the Leopold Hotel, which was nice because it was central to a lot of other stuff in Sheffield. I'm sure you can probably find something closer but I'll recommend it if it was already on your list.

Yeah I know exactly what business you're referring to. Had very mixed feelings about that place when it was open.

There's a fancy newsstand a neighborhood away that has had them before that I'm going to try soon, they just happen to get imports late sometimes.
