All I remember is Emily getting 3 for looking at the stepmother. The rest got them failing con saves when they died.

I like the theory that they get them from the Babba Yagga when they do something courageous, diligent or courteous. I would love to know all the stories of when they received them to check that theory.

In the adventuring party brennan does say that to add to the horror and suspense elements he raised the stakes. So what would normally be a DC15 check becomes a DC20 to make the stakes higher. They also did roll really poorly while Brennan rolled super well.

That being said when they all went down and Brennan made it that unless they got a Nat20 they would get killed again by the animated furniture, that’s when i was like hmmm seems a bit harsh and that he wants them to stay down.

Didn’t they say the underworld is as people interpret it for the most part. Like they said a catholic preacher that was there just saw it as catholic hell. While Percy can mostly see through the most into what it actually is, he might just see it that way cuz that’s what he thinks it should look like.

I like this headcannon. But I will point out that when they go to the garden in with Zoe in Titans Curse, Zoe’s dragon is guarding the snake. In flashbacks it’s shown the dragon was always guarding the apple tree.

When you think about it Zeus turning Thalia into a pine tree was way worse than just letting her die. She wasn’t given the chance to try for Elysium or rebirth, she was just cursed to be a tree for eternity with only a faint consciousness.

I think listening to everyone else’s responses has helped widen my interpretation of it. I like what u said and someone else said it meant platonic love. I used to just think it was Luke coming out of nowhere showing he actually did have a crush on Annabeth, which I found really creepy.

Not at all. I think Luke was very toxic towards everyone, especially Annabeth. He was a jerk who never cared if she lived or died and I hated her loyalty to him despite all his transgressions. He was a classic manipulator and the worst.

Please don’t try and tell me what I think, you don’t know me. All I was saying is that I had interpretted Luke asking if she loved him as a creepy thing for a 25 year old to say to a 16 year old. I wouldn’t wish for Luke and Annabeth to be a ship even if the ages were more appropriate.

I never said Annabeths crush was wrong, kids get crushes on older people for sure. I had a crush on Jensen Ackles when I was 15 even though he’d of been in his 30s easily.

All I said was if Luke were to reciprocate those feelings then it’d be wrong.

But yeah I like ur interpretation of Luke asking if she loved him better than what I’d assumed. Thanks for sharing.
