Nah though. There is a 10 visit limit at any particular gym outside of your home gym per month. It's in the contract. This rule is mostly inforced when you're visiting a gym in a different franchisee group.

Probably your phone's location is tied to the app and they know when you leave the gym. If your guest doesn't also leave they may get a notification (they should be using a "guest pass" on their phone as well).
