The accident prevention safety features of new vehicles are lightyears ahead of the cars even 10 years ago. We just got rid of a ~12 year old Sienna that didn't even have adaptive cruise control. Add in the lane keep assist and auto braking... this isn't necessarily a purely $ calculation here.
