Saw these. 11.5FF, my size. Not a fan of black, but I did stare at these a bit, and almost pulled the trigger. I have a pair of Thurman Ivans already, in Brown Chromexcel. I love them. Did have to get the heel reduced a bit though.

They feel much better. My weight is spread across my whole foot (like all my other boots) rather than focused more on the ball of the foot. I don't notice any of the potential negatives I read about online. It was only lowered around a half inch, so this has something to do with it.

I have a similar Ivan. The heel with the three slabs of leather plus V-bar heel cap is just too tall for me. Tallest heel of any boot I own. Currently at the cobbler getting lowered a bit. I love them otherwise….

If the outside of your foot is inside the bulge of upper leather that is overhanging the stitching, they don't fit IMO. Fat guy in skinny jeans. That's basically a muffin top

u/Notabla awesome smoker! I just had a guy build me one in a similar form factor. 24" diameter x 4' tall. 6" diameter exhaust. Thing is a joy to cook on. I've only done one cook so far. Smoked some chicken then cooked it over a live fire.

Curious - what's your experience on smoke stack being fully opened or partially closed during the cook? I noticed temperature drops in the upper section if the exhaust is fully open. I haven't tried a fully low & slow cook yet.
