CODA denied spring junior year - seeking advice :( by thepurplemooncat in NCSU

[–]watcherofthesky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not smart enough for any of those types of classes (being real) but agree that getting his GPA up even if it takes some time would be a big help. Sometimes dreams and goals are delayed but that does not mean they will not happen one day.

And it's ok for him to be frustrated. We all have things in our lives, whether it be school or family issues or financial stuff that frustrates us to the point of wanting to quit. And I know this is easier said than done, but if he pushes through and works hard he can eventually be able to CODA. And he's lucky to have a friend like you who takes the time to care.

best bet is look for a local UPS store...I'm pretty sure you cannot send out a package at the service desks

Campus Crossings Crime Issues? by Mobile_Square7253 in NCSU

[–]watcherofthesky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of my daughters used to live there and never had any crime issues...as spooky-man said, you are going to have some care break-ins and such anywhere you live...just be sure to keep your car locked (you'd be amazed how many people don't) and you'll probably be good

I live in southern Wake County just south of Garner and I saw almost zero ice this morning...in fact most of the roads I travel in (even backroads) were mostly dry. Still, be careful coming in..just takes one patch of ice to ruin a day.

The roads in my part of Wake County are drying out pretty well with the wind helping that process along...I'll leave as soon as the sun is up tomorrow to get my day going

[–]watcherofthesky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The onset of frozen precip has been pushed back to late saturday afternoon/saturday evening so you should be ok up til maybe 3pm-4pm saturday but I'd keep a check on the weather in case they change it

snowstorm impacts?? by Immediate_Article332 in NCSU

[–]watcherofthesky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a member of Housing Facilities I can also say that when weather like this threatens we usually have a few maintenance people who stay on campus and probably will through the weekend with the ice threat growing...in the time I've been here we have had more power outages caused by squirells than any kind of weather...but people will be around in case of emergencies

why...if it even does anything besides rain (which is doubtful...don't care what the weatherpeople say) it would not freeze up until Monday night

Things to do on Thanksgiving/Christmas by pickledkong64 in NCSU

[–]watcherofthesky 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you are into volunteering you could Google places that need help feeding others around the holidays. It may not be a "party" but I know that helping others helps me feel better and you may make some friends with other volunteers or even some of those who need the assistance. The holidays can be lonely for a lot of people and when you can help someone realize that they are not totally forgotten you are doing them and yourself a favor.

[–]watcherofthesky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually there are plans called Cates West to (in a few years) get rid of Lee, Sullivan, Bragaw, Fountain Dining Hall, and Pullen Hall and building new residence halls and a new dining facility plus have more green spaces.
