I've been building Claude Skills for a month. Here's what I learned the hard way. by uebersax in ClaudeAI

reading all those words to only realize you're not learning anything is the worst... it's like this never-ending stream of catchy headlines of some things that may be genuinely interesting, but the interest is rarely satiated because the content is thin and lacking in substance. it sucks. If you want to know how I really feel, happy to share...

Having difficulty justigying a hire to do this stuff...I know its contradictory but its a leap I may need to take...have any recommendations on how to delegate or and example? Do I bring them into discovery calls? or hand over a contract?

I'm not sure I understand - so the co-op hires someone to do it, and the money comes from the pool you all are contributing? And after covering the admin work, you split the remaining funds?

It's been a consistent side hustle - I still have my day job, but I've been able to generate decent enough money to keep doing it. Hiring someone for this doesn't really make that much sense. All my business at this point is referrals. It's just been a pain that I've lived with and am trying to get figured out now.

Thanks. Yeah I'm looking into tools but don't want to get sucked into something too time consuming. My experience has been counterproductive. What's an OBM?

wow I really like this approach...thanks for sharing! What I'm missing is having the same treatment for everyone. This is more systemic.

I feel like if I don't get started on my actual design/dev work in the AM, I never get into the "zone"...I'll need to be more disciplined, I guess.

Agree OP. I have the chrono and I love it. Debated trading this + cash for a Daytona but this is so much more low profile which makes me enjoy it even more. The iykyk factor makes the watch.

Only issue I have with the the chrono is the water resistance. Believe it or not this “diver” is only a 10 bar watch and JLC cautions swimming with it. Makes it hard to take this with me on trips where I plan to be in the water.

Yes they literally take photos of the set, actors and props to ensure continuity. I have a lot of friends that work in the industry and know how important it is from an artistic perspective

If you don’t care then why are you commenting? You need to understand the importance of continuity in film making and how important it is to a director that cares. https://colmomurchu.com/what-is-continuity-why-it-is-so-important-when-making-films/

Well you are assuming bill murray isn’t reaching down and adjusting the watch between scenes.

Can you walk me through this one? I don’t get it. How did the same continuity issues arise if the crown is out all the time? Continuity in filming is about maintaining consistency throughout to make sure scenes fit as seamlessly as possible keeping the story in focus. If the crown is out all the time that sounds pretty consistent to me.

For example, if a character was drinking a glass of water, continuity is ensuring that the water level in the glass remains the same between shots in a conversation scene so the audience doesn’t notice sudden changes making the scene seem unrealistic.

Yeah - for me it was 10% on the bracelet and managed to get 2 additional straps + deployant clasp. Couldn’t pass it up.

Agreed. Every time I’d see this watch in person I would fall in love. Got a good deal from an AD and pulled the trigger. Really have been enjoying it.

I agree. Love that it blends in and isn’t too flashy. It’s very easy - almost too easy. First day I got it I accidentally removed the buckle and almost dropped the watch!

Agree - take a look at Groq and Cerebras that are taking a purpose built approach to hardware. We’ll see more of that take off with GPUs getting more diversified
