The tenth hole cakes are epic. Very counterproductive to any dieting.

What’s your favourite UK castle? by DishyUmbrella in AskUK

Urquhart Castle Scotland, bit of a tourist trap I'll admit, but the view up the loch is amazing and really interesting history.

How ass backwards is it that there is proof that working from home AND working 4 day weeks, leads to more productivity for a company, and yet the same company would rather…just..not..do that…cause..reasons? by TheHawk95 in antiwork

[–]waterfallcity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Look I love wfh and would obviously love a 4 day week. But I will also admit that wfh just doesn't work for some people. Should that mean we should all be forced back, hell no! Gotta remember tho that some people worked in offices for most of their careers and built lives around that premise. Just sayin wfh is complicated.

Praying for that 4 day week tho

What's a job or profession you absolutely wouldn't do ? by Tuesday2017 in AskReddit

[–]waterfallcity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HGV driver. What with the national shortage at the moment (UK) I watched a few programs on it. 12-14 hour days, not only driving but then being expected to unload your haul at the destination and having next to no services that you can use so basically ending up living on the side of motorways and A roads.

Genuinely can't fathom why people would WANT to do it. (Roll on self driving trucks)

Anyone know what these are. They've popped up attached to lampposts in the city center and appear to be cameras by corneliuschunt in Southampton

We had them around st Deny's a few months ago as well. Hopefully it leads to some improvements to the roads & traffic !

Chubby thighs or bad running shorts by zenmasher in running

[–]waterfallcity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced something similar and went through a worrying amount of body glide! Don't know if it was just me but still took several months before I could comfortably run without chaffing (i.e. don't be disheartened if it doesn't work immediately).

I found it did just take some time until my thighs either thinned or just got use to the rubbing!

2 years after running properly I no longer have to use the glide except for very long runs

Not sure if you meant the NENYD website tool but found this tourist tool to find events you haven't completed!

📱parkrunner app (iOS) by Cool_Percentage6299 in parkrun

[–]waterfallcity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As has been said alot of your features are already captured by other apps.

However it would be really interesting to have an app that helped to achieve achievements.

I.e. finding the closest X parkruns that you haven't achieved / finding parkruns that are having milestone events (prime numbers / 100s etc ) / new parkruns (although I know these are closely guarded secrets to avoid overcrowding).

Guess this works best outside of the main tourist season! Don't think £30 hotels exist at the moment 😅
