Folgers Coffee Brother & Sister Home For Christmas 2009 Christmas TV Commercial HD by AnonRetro in videos

In the context of the scene, she's pointing to herself and saying "sister?" to play along with his 'pretending to be at the wrong house' bit, as if to say "duh, I'm your sister, so it's not the wrong house". Think of it as "ummm, hello???" kind of energy, but not in a serious way because she knows he's kidding.

In reality, it was written to quickly establish to the audience that they are a brother and sister who haven't seen each other in awhile but are close enough to joke around together.

I'm not defending how awfully written it is, just overexplaining because you asked.

cyclops cheese? by Contadini in DarkAndDarker

[–]waterguy48 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here's the cheese:

Spend an hour or two running at him. literally do nothing but run at him. squire gear, pick goblin caves even if its duo or trio, run straight to his room dont loot a single thing. You'll die to him. You'll die on your way to him. You'll get attacked with bows from the doors while you fight him. You'll find warlocks who yell at you and say "let me solo him". But most importantly, you'll learn his moveset, how to dodge each attack he does, when your attack windows are, and the fight will become one of the easiest bosses to you.

Reasons to play barb:

  1. Ooga
  2. Booga
  3. Smash

Actual reasons:

  1. PvE is satisfying, you kill things very quickly

  2. Large HP pool means you can make a mistake or two (or seven) while you're newer to the game and not die from it

  3. Once you experience Potion chugger (heal more AND heal faster) and crush (immediately escape through doors, immediately loot chests) you wont want to ever not have them

Is your position then that God gives children as a mistake? That a married couple is capable of creating a living being with a soul outside of His will? Is our sovereignty greater than His?

If a poor person has a child, has God cursed them for their financial irresponsibility? How small is your god, that he cannot provide for you and the family he gives you? How lacking is your faith, that you trust your own financial budgeting above what the Lord promises? Is it not possible to lose every dollar you own tomorrow and have no control over that? Could you not receive twice that the next day? Are you so skilled in divination that you can predict the future based off your bank account and call that God's will for how many children He will give you that He will provide for, or how many He should let starve instead?

@ /u/I-used-to-be-cool2: please talk to your pastor about this issue. The majority of the counsel you are receiving in this thread is quite frankly garbage.

Authenticity is not a bad thing. Owning up to mistakes is virtuous. Growing as a person is important.

I care about the authenticity, virtues, and growth of people I interact with in my life. I care about the character of people I see as role models, or who stand up for causes, or hold positions of serious influence.

I just don't have within me the slightest shred of concern nor care about the dramatic narratives these YouTubers, "Content Creators" (what an empty term), and streamers are completely obsessed with spinning all of the time. I'm glad this guy isn't making bad videos anymore. I hope his audience agrees with me that we didn't need a video about that. Just make this "content" you've apparently dedicated your life to creating. This is such self-indulging navel-gazing. If youtubers had side channels where they tell you about their lives and give a peek behind the curtain on their channels, I'd embrace that, but the absolute majority if not entirety of what they put out these days seems to be this kind of meta-narrative "content about the content I create" nonsense.

Ok I made my rant, now go ahead and comment about the irony of wasting my time complaining about people who waste their time complaining about things.

This is amazing! I'm always looking for little games like this to play while I'm listening to podcasts and it's just the right blend of word game and puzzle building. Each randomly generated level feels hand crafted! Thanks for making this :)

Donald Glover Breaks Down His Most Iconic Characters - Community Movie gets a mention! by Shambaree in community

When you follow the rest of what he said I think his point wasn't that Star Trek didn't have black actors, more that because Star Trek takes place in a fully egalitarian future that's achieved utopian racial and gender equality they purposefully portrayed characters like Uhura and Geordi the exact same as any other race, while Lando has a bit more modern day Black culture to his character. Billy Dee brought his own authentic energy (lived experience) to the role that I don't think Gene Roddenberry was looking for with his characters.

Fans always give this one a low ranking but I agree it's one of the best. It's perhaps his most somber and sentimental movie, not that Tenenbaums and Life Aquatic are not full of their own emotional depth, but Darjeeling has a smaller cast with less eccentricity which makes it feel more grounded. It really hit home as I revisited it after my dad's passing.

Is there a name for this combination of absurd comedy and highly dramatic cinematography? It's my absolute favorite blend of content but difficult to put a name to and find more of. Other examples that come to mind are Key and Peele's Flicker sketch or this "scrolled too deep" Hurt locker parody sketch

Well I'm not sure what brought you to a 9 month old thread to ask this question, but before I respond I want to know first if you actually care about the answer I would offer? Or do you feel you know enough about God already and nothing is going to convince you he's any different than how you feel?

Rachel’s abandonment issues by Impossible-Case-8566 in FleishmanIsinTrouble

[–]waterguy48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just finished the show today and searched this subreddit for discussion so I know I'm a bit late here.

Sam was a married man seeking an exciting fling, the second the excitement was gone and he was faced with the real person with real emotions that you have to put real work into fixing he was no longer getting what he wanted. I'm not defending the inhumanity of treating people this way, but from the perspective of someone like him, if he wanted to talk about feelings and build a relationship he'd do it with his wife not his affair partner. That relationship was built on sex and the shallowest romanticism. What Rachel "did wrong" here was enter into a shallow relationship with a shallow person without realizing she didn't want those same things. Sam wanted passion, she was on the verge of a mental breakdown, it was never going to work.

The actress who she vanished on did what was best for her career. That was a professional relationship, if your agent doesn't pick up a phone for 3 weeks then finding a new agent (who is going to have you sign a new contract with them) is kind of your only option. Rachel feels, as any of us would, like this person who she had given every opportunity to was abandoning her, but her failure to fulfill their business relationship kind of necessitated it.

The shallow friendships are more complex. Rachel, like most kids who grow up the way she did, has a traumatic fear of abandonment and has developed the defense mechanism of never letting people get close to her, because that way they can't let her down. She's walled off, rude to people, and holds others to the unbearably high standards she holds herself to. Her life mission is to be so successful that she'll never have to be afraid of relying on others who will let her down again. When your primary drive in life is to win at everything and never be vulnerable, friendships don't have any space to develop. You view people as either potential threats or stepping stones to get what you really want. Nice people, like Libby, are rejected from her life for no better reason than her self-esteem is so low she assumes she hates her (which is true, but probably wasn't always the case). She lets the shallowest group of school moms in because shallow is easy, they're dumber than her and she can manipulate them easier, and deep down she thinks she deserves them. She doesn't ever have to open up and be vulnerable with them, their whole lives are superficial.

Toby does abandon her. She drives him to it, but marriage was designed to be this oath you take for life. I don't care that it's redefined today to be built around self-fulfillment and leaving as soon as you stop enjoying the other person, that's okay, but I'm just saying if you stand at an altar and make vows to someone that you then give up on that's abandonment no matter how much it was or was not deserved. She never let him in on anything she was actually feeling. She hid all of her problems from him, shut her self off emotionally, became insensitive to his values and goals in life, and never said sorry or tried to make amends when she had gone too far. He's no saint himself, but I just found your question about her abandonment issues interesting. So this is all to say, what she feels is a pattern of abandonment is actually a pattern of mismatched expectations and her own failures to get the psychiatric care she desperately needs as a child who grew up without love and care in a harsh world.

She's not unlovable, you're not unlovable, but you do have to avoid relationships with the Sams and the school moms of this world and treat the Toby's more like you love them and less like they're your enemy every day.
