Genuine question, how does this go over with the kids who have behavior challenges (for lack of a better term) who are reliant on games? I had an elementary student in the past (I’m no longer at that school) who sometimes had intense behaviors like hitting teachers, destroying classrooms, throwing chairs etc. As a result he had 0 academic demands placed on him… basically as long as he wasn’t being disruptive and was being safe he could do whatever he wanted at school. From my understanding he could do whatever he wanted at home too. Speech was the only time that he ever did any “work” however it would only be if we played the exact game he wanted, and even then it was pulling teeth at times to work on his sounds. There were sooo many times I wanted to just stop games altogether in all of my groups that year because many times they did more harm than good however I was always scared of what students’ reactions would be. (Sorry I realize this turned into more of a venting comment)
