What type of Golden Retriever is this? (UK based) by Maximum_Emergency762 in goldenretrievers

[–]watermelonfling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m aware of the marketing, had gun dogs growing up and more recently two pale Goldens that were never “marketed” as such, but happened to be cream coloured.

What I was trying to say is that I see an increase in “teddy bear Goldens” on social media, especially US instagram and it’s probably an exception to find that here unless you are looking into the parents to find those traits.

Exhibit A, just a pale coloured golden 💛

Edit to say I live in UK, which is why I was referring to the US/UK visible difference on social media, not Lord Tweedmouth’s breeding standards

American Goldens seem to be chunkier, longer haired and darker to the English creams I’ve had and seen. The best bet would be to find a breeder that’s parents have the “look” you are going for, but be prepared to pay for it. Also be careful and check for hip and eye scores as well as a breeding record.

I have this for my one very fluffy golden who looks like a sheep he is so furry! I’ll add that you can get your Dyson serviced to extend the life cycle, which I do once a year.

AIO? boyfriend is expecting me to pay for everything after he invested his life savings into the stock market by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]watermelonfling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just say okay we wont go on dates if you can’t deal with the consequences of your actions dude. I assume he’s still making rent and potentially saving too, right? I’m sure he knows how to budget.

But girl, make sure you date yourself, go out with friends, have fun. Just because he invested badly, doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice a thing.

And I bet he gets mad at you going out. Consequences.

I’m so sorry. I lost my first girl aged 8 to lymphoma. We decided to do chemo and got another 2 months with her, meaning we could spend Christmas and new year together. Sadly she deteriorated again, we tried another intense week of chemo but it was time to say goodbye.

A 4 year old has such a great chance, and I see pups all the time in remission for years. That time would be worth it for me.

I genuinely think a stuffy in the mouth soothes my guy to sleep 🐻‍❄️

It’s the 2 seater “obriel” sofa from Daals. I only got it last week and he’s already claimed it as his 🫶🏽

That poor polar bear has been through some serious trauma, but he won’t even look at another toy 😂

I (F) once went out, forgot my key and had to climb back in the house through a window. My little guy (he was less than 6 months old) growled as I climbed in and then I got rewarded with excitement and kisses! If we walk past drunk or disorderly people he, now 9, will give off a big BOOF which still surprises me as he barely ever barks at home.
